They're essentially the leader creative designer who oversees graphics, artwork, animation... Basically he's the one calling the shots for how everything looks. He's gonna govern the aesthetic of everything. A big part of that is keeping the design consistent and in line. Which is something perfect for Nomura to do.

Reading the entirety of the interview, while not directly stated, it feels like Nomura is indicating the next full Remake installment will be only for the PS5, doesn’t seem like they are intending to go dual generation a la-MGSV for the rest of the Remake project (especially since the Yuffie DLC is exclusive to the PS5 version).

He’s at least a battle simulator boss, but I’m not sure if he’s only a battle simulator boss, as Nomura repeatedly calls him a secret boss. Also it sounds he’ll also have some role in the story of the DLC either way as well.
