I know someone said it somewhere here (but I've lost the quote in all the excitement) but I am also excited by the prospect of what the PS5 only DLC means for Part 2 being PS5 only and not held back by the PS4.

There was a contingent of fans hoping ALL of the remake titles would be available on PS4, but I'm glad that isn't the case. Cyberpunk 2077 is a good cautionary tale about forcing games onto old hardware.

I understand that Square probably wouldn't want to shine a spotlight (or a sun lamp) on this mistake, but I wonder what the chances are that they fixed the plate misalignment, when looking up at the plates from the slums, in the ps5 version.

Was just combing through the available footage to get an answer on this. Most important question here folks.

It appears the error remains. During the photo mode segment of the PS5 feature trailer, there's a clip of Cloud and Aerith on the slum rooftops. I quickly played the PS4 version to that point and can confirm the skybox is identical. Meaning, the incorrect Sector 6 plate is still overhead.

As I speculated earlier, I think this inconsistency is fully intentional to give the lighting a more natural source.

The choice to put the Sector 6 plate skybox over the Sector 5 slum areas, still befuddles me, even if it was for better lightning, especially IIRC when early trailers for the Remake that showed earlier builds showed it with the correct skybox I think (like the first trailer that showed Rude IIRC).

I'm pretty sure it's related to the atomic explosion caused by the death of time-travelling ghosts. It caused ripples of distortion, affecting the past in ways unimaginable.

This means that when the Sister Ray is installed on Midgar it can already be easily rotated to adjust the aim! This way it's easier to explain how the Sister Ray shot reaches the Northern Crater barrier.

Always been the case, it's because of age verification. The German store doesn't offer free content for anything rated 16+ so initially there was no demo at all for Germany and then they compromised by asking a small fee

edit: I see somebody mentioned the DOOM demo (rated 18) being available in the German store and I just confirmed that, so that's weird O.o

One improvement I'd like to see in the PS5 version is for Ch16 to no longer re-use old voice clips. So much of the NPC dialogue is just recycled stuff which is extra strange because the earlier chapters don't recycle.

For those in the know - if you have a PS4 disc, and pop it into a PS5, does it then install the game and update to run the PS5 version? I wanna play the DLC but don't wanna but the game again.

Also I've been passively looking for a PS5 for weeks so I can play Village... no luck

IIRC the Yuffie episode will be accessible without having to complete the game, it will be its own separate selection from the menu. Also in general you should be able to transfer your saved data from your PS4 to your PS5.

So if you have the PS4 disc and a PS5 with a disc drive, then just pop in the PS4 disc and you'll be able to download and play the PS5 version. Minor note: you'll need to have PS4 disc in the disc drive anytime you want to play. However, the Yuffie chapter will cost you $20. There's no way around this. You're either a PS4 owner and need to pay $20 for the Yuffie chapter or you can buy the PS5 version (which includes the base game and Yuffie chapter) for $70. All prices are USD. Hope that makes sense!
