I specifically posted a screenshot from the online mode (scene 6 to be specific), taking place before Hojo taking over Weiss, so that you wouldn't try and argue that position Mako. :monster:

Majikayo!?!!

It also simply must be pointed out that the CC Complete Guide mentions Weiss's yellow eyes:

"SOLDIER eyes
Having been showered in mako, SOLDIERs like Zack have a blue/green glow emanate from the back of their eyes. In the Tsviet division of Deepground, some of those who have been assigned titles with a color are an exception to this, having red or yellow eyes."

Holy shit, I never heard of that before! Wow. They even covered that??

Is that not a reference to Azul's glowing yellow eyes?

^I'd say it's this because Weiss' eyes are definitely mostly blue :wacky:
The yellow ring seems like it could be just regular central heterochromia which they seem to enjoy giving their blue-eyed characters. I've had a friend who has blue eyes with a yellow ring around the pupil just like that. It's a thing that happens in real life. :monster:

The compilation depictions of characters has an odd tendency towards two-tone eyes that the Remake seems to have shuttered. Don't forget Cloud's Blue eyes with a green interior that was mentioned in that quote. That's not in the Remake either.

I've always assumed our SOLDIER boys have this visible bluish/greenish mix because their eyes were originally blue. Which leads me to a hypothesis... If someone brown-eyed gets the same mako treatment, does it mean their eyes are going to change their colour to the same blue/green combo, or stay brown but get the glowing green interior?

Man, I was right in the middle of my HM playthrough. Now I'm considering starting that over from the beginning to see all the changes, and that means HM Hell House again. Strength through suffering indeed.

For instance, in Yuffie's game, he fights with a handicap. Like with only 1 sword.

In the combat simulator you fight him unrestrained and full strength. Both swords.
This would be a fantastic callback to DoC Online where Weiss is allowed to fight Azul and Rosso at the same time by the Restrictors... and informs Azul and Rosso that he's handicapping himself because if he went full power, he'd win too easily. So he only fights them with one sword instead of both. And still wipes the floor with them anyway. Azul and Rosso are... not happy about how they lost.

After having watched a decent amount of reactions to the trailer, I surmise the following:

- Most people have no idea about Deepground and Weiss. It is very much a niche portion of fans who know enough about Dirge of Cerberus to react to it at all. More people seem to be familiar with Weiss than with the standard DG soldiers though.

On Weiss, my brother played Dirge and he texted me "I totally forgot about that guy lol".

On a similar note, this upscaled and widescreen version of the Weiss vs. Vincent fight has some fun cinematography. Wonder what moves his boss fight will have.

Heh... we know Omega is off it's game thanks to being woken up "wrong". Omega's *actual* goal wasn't to destroy stuff...
DoC: Interview with the Creators said:
You could take it [think] that the Omega that was created when Nero and Weiss become one is because of Hojo when Nero was being distracted. Omega is born from the pure Lifestream, so does that mean the Omega we see in DC is completely different form than the original Omega [that was described in Lucrecia’s reports]?

Chiba: It is a completely different object than the original Omega that was expected [to be born out of natural causes]. As a result of being a completely different object than its original form, you can also say that the way in which this artificial Omega was created [the reversal process] brings harm and devastation.

[This question is basically asking the difference between the real Omega and the artificial Omega that Hojo tried to replicate.]

In my head growing up I assumed Mako treatment made your eyes more brilliant shades of whatever color they already were, including brown. But clearly we're to think some blue/greenness will get involved regardless.

Funny because I've always thought that Mako treatment got you blue, brilliant eyes. SOLDIER's eyes - because everyone seemed to aknowledge that Cloud was a SOLDIER because of his eyes and Zack had the same ones.

Everything after Vincent transforms into Chaos is just pure anime, and I love it.

Weiss: *teleports behind you*

Vincent: *no u*

Incredible.
Either Omega was just pissed off and grumpy from being awoken early or Weiss was like, "fuck it, already started destroying the world, might as well finish the job!" :monster:
Weiss really does have no motivation to continue Hojo's plan. He and Vincent should have just gone out for coffee or something.

So I know I'm probably giving SE too much credit here, but consider this exchange between Weiss and Nero before Weiss rids himself of Hojo and joins Omega:
Nero: Let us become one. Let us come together, so that none may ever tear us apart.
Weiss: Yes. Let us... Let us go join him.

I like to think this "joining" with "him" serves as their reason. What that means I don't know. The only "him" I can think of that's relevant to Weiss and Nero is Genesis. Perhaps it 's related to the "work left to do" that Genesis speaks of after he awakens. But yeah, in my headcanon it's not that they don't have a motivation, it's just that we don't know what it is.

I'm forever baffled that SE left Dirge of fricking Cerberus open to having a sequel.

I feel like there's been a more in-depth analysis of Weiss's JP line somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Twilight Mexican does say that the line seems to simply be "Let's go join" without being gender-specific.
ヴァイス:そうだな……それもいい
2人で……会いに行こう……

So my understanding is that all Nero and Weiss have is each other, ergo why they fuse and go ahead with joining "him"/Omega because they might as well be travelling the stars.

I was afraid it'd end up being a translation issue!

Considering the general mental instability of Weiss and Nero, for me it's not completely out of character for them to say "screw this whole damn world". However, the fact that Weiss is able to control Omega despite merging with the corrupt Nero and after losing the protomateria is truly beyond me.

Definitely not an elegant scenario in the plot. At the end of Ch11 the general proximity to the Protomateria is enough for Vincent to partially control Chaos and defeat Weiss, so presumably the proximity argument is the same used for when Omega Weiss and Chaos Vincent duke it out at the end of Ch12. This would explain why Weiss seems in control during the final battle. Or the writers never actually thought that far ahead.

I know this is the Yuffie DLC thread but while we're on the topic of Weiss and DG... Do we know when Weiss (and Nero) became restrained? Because at the end of CC when they pick up Genesis they seem like normal SOLDIER dudes out on a mission (aside from the fact we don't see their faces and they have a different emblem on their belts) At what point did they become the crazy-powerful-have-to-be-locked-up-all-the-time guys we see in Dirge?
