So...is this about multiple endings being added by the story DLC's?

(I saw this used as a source for that fact, but it is in Japanese and all. And Maybe that's old news, but I hadn't heard about alternate endings before, just expanded cutscenes.)

The bros do know hes from Nifelheim at this point. This is way after the Trial of Titan where he introduces himself as the imperial chancellor. It's chapter 8. They know who he is at this point, so he really has nothing to hide at that point besides the usual jerkery.

Right, well, that was my point. :monster:

"You, the player, now know our charming/creepy-ass friend here is the chancellor of Niflheim, but you're wondering 'Didn't he have a car on this continent? One registered to Leide?' Well, here's your answer for that."

Superespresso said:
A friend noticed the letter in another vehicle somewhere else and is taking pictures. No idea where or when, but the card is still new. Maybe he's just being a jerk and stealing someone's mail. Maybe he stole the car entirely. Wouldn't put it past him.
Or that.

Sorry, I don't know how I missed this post.

No, there won't be any new endings to the game. Kills me how this stuff spreads when precisely the opposite is what was actually said. It's like the "episodic release schedule" thing for FFVII Remake all over again.

The DLC themselves may have branching elements, but those changes will be self-contained to the DLC. Tabata says outright that nothing in the DLC will change the story of the released game:

「DLCの物語に関しては、本編で描かれなかった部分を描くだけではなく、プレイヤーの遊び方によって結果が変わっていくようなものも予定している。あくまで本編の物語を変えるものではなく、DLCであればこういう方向でも楽しめる、というような幅を持たせたい。

"As for the story of the DLC, there are plans to not only show parts that were missing in the original, but also for things that will change based on how the player plays. They won't be things that change the story of the original, of course, so I want there to be enough substance that they can be enjoyed even just as DLC."

I mean damn, it's right there. Why do some sites and/or YouTube channels bother to report on this stuff if they aren't going to do their due diligence?

Anywho, some other interesting things:

-They ask him about all the attention the game's bugs have been getting. He says that debugging was the main reason for the two-month delay, as well as difficult, and that this was the best they could do with the time they had

-They ask why concerns about spoilers getting out didn't result in strictly regulating shipments. He said he was more concerned with everyone having the game by the same point in time

-They ask him about reactions to the second half of the main story (i.e. after Chapter 9). He said that he felt each chapter stood strong individually, but does recognize that the second half as a whole wasn't as strong as the first. Now that the game is out, though, he wants to think he can feel better about it the next time he plays through that section, and in the future, he will make sure the back half of his games get more attention

[My own comment: Since this makes two games in a row from him to have gotten that kind of critique, hopefully he does realize it's something he needs to improve upon.]

-The devs are considering allowing avatars not only for whatever online play is implemented, but also for the main game. It would just be an appearance change, though

I think the main idea of the DLC of FFXV is showing the different perspectives of the other characters besides Noctis and Lunafreya, adding new scenes to the story without really changing it per se. Like with Kingsglaive because I noticed that some of the scenes in the game were from the film itself.

If you ask me, it's sort of like KH X-CHI/Unchained, KH: Back Cover or Tales of Zestiria(a non-square enix game that has it's own DLC content gameplay) all over again due to the fact that FFVII Remake hasn't even been released yet.

And this video shows us that the same glitch that can happen during the final battle can occur
during the battle with Leviathan in Altissia, allowing exploration of that city and the Lucis continent -- by flight!

Yeah I could've told you that in less than six minutes. :monster:

It was notable to me because the building exists in Kingsglaive but they changed the design to an open-air roof deck there whereas it's still the original Versus XIII design in the game.

In real life it exists as the

Also, those Altissia aerial views! The out of bounds glitches know no...well, bounds. =P

Apparently,
they got the whole crew in the fight against Leviathan, just kept flying around letting the other guys try to fight her, and eventually the tsunami wall enclosing the battle area opened up and allowed the player to escape.

And apparently Weskham stayed in Maagho while all this shit was going on. :monster: Watching the player do Prompto's photo ops around Altissia while Leviathan is flooding everything is hilarious.

Is Titan being summoned here or does he come of his own volition to stop Leviathan from running amok? Does the Oracle even have the ability to summon astrals or is this only something that happens because she's with the chosen King?

You're required to summon as a QTE to beat the level. So noctis does it before he goes down.

Did anybody else catch that the world
was already engulfed in darkness by the time Noctis was making his way into Gralea? On a radio in a barracks of Zegnautus Keep, you can hear Dave the Hunter say the following:

"As of yesterday, we done opened the gates of Lestallum to any and all refugees. Don't matter where you come from—all ya'll are welcome. We're one people now. Y'all're in need of an escort, give us a holler at HQ and we'll dispatch a hunter right away. It's dangerous to go alone. I'd also like to take this opportunity to ask the people of Lestallum to embrace your fellow man and treat 'em with the respect we all deserve. Lestallum's the only light left. Darkness may have consumed the skies, but don't let it consume your hearts."

You can see/hear that at 12:45 in this video:

Crownsguard/Kingsglaive ――Elite soldiers who protect the kingdom
Organizations that handle Lucis's defense. The Crownsguard, whose roots lay in the Lucian army that was dissolved long ago, is responsible for the security of the city and Citadel. A unit founded 15 years ago, the Kingsglaive are a personal defense squad whose combat ability is enhanced by powers on loan from King Regis. Although few are able to master their magical powers, as Lucis's strongest soldiers, they're active in the war with the Empire.

Cor Leonis
The marshal who commands the Crownsguard. He grew up in an ordinary, humble home in the Crown City, Insomnia, and has accumulated abundant combat experience going back to his youth.

Titus Drautos
The captain who supervises the Kingsglaive. Originating from a small village in the northeastern archipelago of the Cavaugh Region, he lost his hometown in the war of 30 years ago, and has a past that is kept secret from Regis.

Lucis and Niflheim ——A History of War
The Kingdom of Lucis and the Empire of Niflheim have repeatedly been at war with one another in the past. Here we look back on the history of war the two countries have waged.

Circa M.E. 358: Niflheim invades other countries
The Aldercapt family who govern Niflheim set their sights on world domination, utilizing the legacy of the ancient civilization of Solheim. To that end, their two primary targets become the Kingdom of Lucis, which possesses the Crystal, and Tenebrae, led by the Oracle. Although gaining control of Tenebrae's territory proceeds with relative ease, an invasion of Fenestala Manor -- wherein reside the Fleurets, the Oracle family -- isn't conducted due to the masses' faith in the Oracle.

Circa M.E. 606: Conflict between Niflheim and the Lucis-Accordo Allied Forces
With the Lucian army being overwhelmed by the weapons of the Empire, it is determined there is no hope for victory within the situation as it stands. The king at the time erects the Wall around the whole of the Cavaugh region that includes the Crown City of Insomnia, and takes up a siege position. At this time, the Lucian army is dissolved and reorganized into a countermeasure-only defense force, the Crownsguard.

Circa M.E 725: Lucis challenges Niflheim, and is defeated
Due to the defeat of the allied forces, the Niflheim army invaded the three regions of Leide, Duscae, and Cleigne, where they began establishing bases and the like -- yet even so, there was a period without war after that. Eventually, Lucis dispatches soldiers to challenge the Empire en masse, but they are pushed back by the Magitek Troopers and defeated. At this time, the Lucian prince -- who had traveled to Accordo with a select few to seek the restoration of an allied force -- is forced to reluctantly withdraw to the Crown City, Insomnia, due to the Lucian army's defeat. In addition, the range of the Wall is pulled back to Insomnia's ramparts in order to maintain the strength to resist the Empire's invasion efforts.

Circa M.E 744-756: Conflict between Lucis and Niflheim continues
Niflheim renews its offensive against Lucis with the attack on Fenestala Manor. Although the stalemate becomes prolonged due to the drastic reduction of Niflheim's military forces in the battle with the Glacian, Lucis remains in the unfavorable position, and the Niflheim army draws near to the Crown City's ramparts.

There isn't much more I'm going to translate from this book. Probably just the entries on the Hunters and then the Outpost-related stuff. And I'm only doing those because they're the only glossary stuff I haven't gotten to. =P

Aaaah beautiful translation. Now if only there were more substance in the book.

the days start getting shorter as early as the vesper pool. At 4pm the sun will start to set. It's kind of disorienting honestly.

^Holy shit, you're right. I remember being super confused, but I thought maybe I had just gotten the time wrong.

Interesting.

I definitely noticed daybreak was coming later and later (from 6am to 7am) as well as dusk coming earlier. I think I noticed it around Vesperpool as well, perhaps even in chapter 6.
