FINAL FANTASY 14

I should add that this game isn't really much of a new announcement; they'd announced they were working on an MMO a long time ago, so long I actually lost track. The only real news here besides the trailers is that it's a numbered Final Fantasy title. So it probably won't affect launch date of the next non-online main series FF entry after FFXIII at all.

If enough people on TLS actually get into this, I might actually be arsed with it. I've never bothered with MMOs before.

it was pretty shocking. I was like.....wtf OMG FFXIV....then it said it was online and I was sad. I always wanted to play XI because I heard good things besides the massive amount of grinding. Im more saddened with the fact that I wont have time to devote to it so I just probably wont play it.

Yes and more yes. For a TLS guild I've decided that I am srs business. We could have the best and guild on whatever server, imo. I still want to wait for more info on the game, but I anticipate that we'll need to get cracking on figuring out a good time zone, a guild name, application procedure (if any), etc. Stuff we can adjust as we find out more about the game.

I'd be excited to hear what everyone sounds like in voice chat, too.

Yes and more yes. For a TLS guild I've decided that I am srs business. We could have the best and guild on whatever server, imo. If we really went through with making a TLS guild we could request the staff make a hidden section (not unlike a real team), in which an application has to be made to join the section. The application to the usergroup could be custom to fit info fields like.

Build:
Timezone playtime:

Then using posts of the player found around the forum we could decide whether or not hes a bad apple or not. I know you guys may want the "anyone can get in mentality" , but keep in mind if a scammer/hacker/asshole gets in hes not only making a bad name for the guild in the game, but he/she is also giving TLS a bad name as well.

With in the hidden section there could be a few sections for like

Trading/Selling items , be it resource , mats for equips or equips them selves.

a Raid room , basically a section for requesting certain dungeon/boss raids or just finding a grinding partner.

General Guild chat , for all general FFXIV guild chat i guess , like "ffsineedamount"
And lastly a

Guild HQ section, in which all members of the guild (or leader/SiC's) can decide upon things to help the guild prosper and hopefully become well known.


Who knows maybe if we all become top dogs in the game TLS will get more hits and stuff due to people wanting to join the guild , since in order to join the guild they'd have to join the forum

Anywho if i do pick up the game ill be willing to help out with a TLS guild and what not ^^

If we get a big interest in the game onsite I'd have no problem with making a hidden section for members only, for the folks interested in playing together.

This looks good, but I would also have them include a brief statement as to why they're interested in joining the guild if they hear about us in-game first rather than on the forum. Or we could require 50 posts or something. I want to be careful, though, because I wouldn't want this place to gain the reputation of being elitist or picky by making noobs jump through a bunch of hoops. Ninja/hackers/etc are a concern, though, and I would like to see what kind of system FFXIV will have in place to help us prevent damage from that in addition to our own safeguards.

I like these ideas, and I would also like to suggest a subforum for each class. In my experience, it has been very helpful to have a place for members to discuss class mechanics, raise questions and concerns and forge better camaradrie and teamwork. Having a place for class leaders to post relevant info is nice, too.

Yes, I'm looking forward to this aspect. It'll take a lot of work to build and maintain, but I think this community is more than capable.

It shouldnt be all too high , FFXI is 12$ a month , plus a one time 1$fee for account creation (and another one time 1$fee for some sort of card game too)
15bucks is standard fair in the P2P mmo world Most of us can make that in 2 hours work (or one depending in what state you live in).

Im up for this if in a years time im not in jail , if im as free as a bird then ill be more then happy to help the guild get off its feet.

Great idea , how ever instead of multiple sections for each class (10ish sections is a bit much and they would be dead if there split up) maybe one large section should be made for all class/build questions, with a thread stickied at the top with links to very relavent guides, threads or posts.
It could also be used to ask questions about equips, items , dungeons,interesting builds and also a place to sticky a thread for coordinates to neat "Secret areas (all mmos have em xD).

Not quite sure i follow, you mean as in usergroups for different teams with in the guild?
Or a new usergroup for the members of the guild?

A) have things on hand in a years time , rather then brainstorming a week before its released (or during beta)

b.) Have a place to chat about it without having to go through posts looking for posts pertaining to a possible guild and what not in a big thread.

If we get a big interest in the game I'd rather make it a completely new site, so that each site can concentrate on one subject. It'd, for example, allow FFXIV profile customizations and the like, and related themes, and the like.
