Well that might get me to buy it. No way I'm shelling out cash on a bunch of fancy PS3 equipment when I already have a PC and am more comfortable with using it.

That, and if our TLS group has a clan/guild will get me to play it. That would pretty much make it fun whether the game sucks or not.

I don't see why the thought of a monthly payment is causing so much indigestion, though. I paid $15 a month for WoW, I'm paying $15 a month now for Vanguard. I pay $50 a month for my cellphone and get far less use and enjoyment out of that.

Okay, the PS3 IS fancy equipment, in my case, because I'm behind the times. D: But you know they always get you to spend more and more money on peripherals and nonsense when they can control your means of accessing what it really is you want to pay for! Like the last flight I took, they had satellite radio but charged you $2 for their cheap ass headphones with the special connection that fit into their special headphone jacks. Then they charge you like $3 for a bottle of water, $2 for a bag of chips, next they'll be charging for bathroom use because they know you're in the air and you can't do anything about it anyway. The PS3 could very easily become that airplane!

And Alex Strife, your info says you're 21. Tell your parents to shove it. You're old enough to spend your own money on whatever you want to spend it on, and old enough to have the means to do so. Time to cut the umbilical cord, buddy.

Our guild will be epic, though.

It doesn't need to sell nearly as well as an offline title to be profitable, since charging for online play every month enables them to make a continuous profit. A lot of these can go on for several years, as well, so if done right then you're talking quite a bit more return on investment for the same amount of development work.
