here's reno's smarmy face
enemy info image for reno
rude sorta makes an appearance as a helicopter
reno's pyramid, which stops you from using materia
when you do your limit break reno ends up holding onto his bike flailing around in the air
from reno's limit break
the prizes for these missions include 'study of planetary life data' which will give you various rewards depending on how much you collect during this event
this is tifa punching reno
if you get his hp down to 0 without using a limit break you knock him off his bike
the shinra turks-r bike, which has the extra ability of destroying barricades
look at that fucking face

this event is a lot more nicely designed than the ifrit one. there's 4 levels to it again, but the costs are a bit nicer (the extreme one is still 100 gs though). plus the rewards are a lot better than the previous two events. with bahamut and ifrit you had to beat the missions 5 times to unlock the next reward on every level. but this time, the higher levels need you to beat them a smaller number of times. with the extreme one, you get a reward each time you beat it.
you are also given the shinra turks-r bike for beating the low level mission the first time, instead of having to make it. it also doesn't need any special materials to upgrade (you can get them from regular missions), so unlike this flametongue sword which i cannot upgrade anymore now unless they add garnet and flame spheres to the prizes of other missions i could upgrade this bike even after the event is over.
they added a new element to this one where you collect items and get rewards based on how many you get. it's kind of like the collection events they do with ff record keeper. apparently if you get 250 of these data disks you get another copy of the bike, and at about 800 you get the bike and enough materials to max it out completely plus some level 2 materia. i think the rewards for all the levels get you about 700 disks, so you would have to get about 100 from the roulettes (there's only one disk on the beginner roulette, 2 on the intermediate and 3 on the advanced one, but every item on the extreme one is a disk and it adds more if you get the bonus rewards from your mission score).
so overall i think they've done a better job with this one. the extreme one is tricky without being as utterly cheap as the ifrit one (seriously, even with a maxed out bahamut bike one hit of its limit break took all your life, and that was the bike they suggested you use. it was like they just wanted you to use the continue option and thus buy a load of gems.), though the others are kind of easy but that might be because i have good equipment.
they updated to 1.4 recently which added three more chapters, a new course (cosmo canyon, which is where the reno battle takes place too), new enemies, and i think another weapon (rune blade). but it's a bit disappointing that the bosses for these chapters are just recycled ones from the midgar missions (risky bomb, general tank, and shinra bike guy whose name i forgot). at least one new boss would have been nice
