Livestream tidbits:

- Like in X, you can switch between Hitoshi Sakimoto's old score and the new, reorchestrated score.

- THERE ARE NEW MUSICAL TRACKS IN THE GAME. NEW. MUSIC. TRACKS.

- In TZA, gambits for characters will depend on their job class.

- To run the map at double speed, press L1. There's also a mode that gives speed 4x, but they didn't say what command that was.

- Map overlay in real time, L3

- Dual language options. I forget if that's been mentioned already; I assumed it was a given.

- Dialogue is supposed to be a lot 'clearer, crisper'

- Trial Mode will be included in TZA.

- There's a stronger foe than Yiazmat in the Trial Mode.

- THERE'S A COLLECTOR'S EDITION OF THE ZODIAC AGE AND IT COMES WITH THE JUDGE MAGISTER BUST SET WHICH IS THE ONLY WAY THE SET WILL BE SOLD! SDZMVBZDFBSKDFBVXDKFBKJDFBSDDFBSEHSTRH !!!!!!!!!

It should be pointed out that this is a DLC feature, though it does come with the various collectors' editions (two physical and one digital as far as I could tell). Kinda bullshit that that's the case; the X & X-2 HD collection included it off the bat.

Of course they didn't mention either of the two things I'm really hoping for – the option to switch license boards and a PC version. At this point I'm 99.9% sure the former won't be included but I'm still expecting the latter at some point. I guess it's a timed PS4 exclusive so they can't announce any other versions at the moment.

It should also be noted that it was only introduced in the PS4 version and isn't available on PS3/Vita afaik.

Okay I lied, this is another thing I care about and I'm very glad they fixed it.

They should have fixxed the gameplay system instead. Still bummed out this is IZJS. And how they keep referring to it as an 'improvement'. Smeh.

I'm digging the new music recording though, it sound very good. If I'm gonna have to get a fucking DLC to get it though, Imma stab a bitch.

The DLC is for the original music, which is truly awful practice by SE. Certain versions have a code that "unlocks the original music option in the menu" which says to me the original OST is already on the disc.

Well yeah, but I thought the issue was that they only had the compressed versions of the files and not the originals.


Also, which one of y'all nerds are running the the Community Playthrough in July? After you finish Tactics


While I definitely understand that it would be superior to have been given an option, looking over the boards for each job got me way more excited than the original board ever did. Some of the Jobs and what moves they use seem really inventive. (But I definitely always assumed you could switch jobs like in all the Tactics games...really weird that you can't.)

I am seriously wondering how epic the reorchestrated version of Theme of the Empire will sound.

idk, I might not be the best person to set up chapters for a casual playthrough. I've watched way too many speedruns

That being said, routing casual IZJS might be more interesting.

We'll cross that bridge when we get there, I guess.
