I love Yoshida's compositions. Notice how light and fluent and freely moving the characters on the left side are, while the right side is heavy, straight, grounded, gloomy. But it's not all light vs dark - notice the tone of Basch's face. Also, one might find Penelo's placement odd, but I'd say it's because of Larsa's placement - speaking of Larsa, his character is probably the one to look the most like himself out of all of them.
I like how he made Vaan a bit smaller than Ashe and Balthier, as to say - don't immediately picture Vaan as the main character, although the first part of the story almost entirely revolves around him and Penelo. Their main function is to act as set-up for the story and universe. Yes, they are in the center of the poster, but that doesn't mean they're more central than anyone else.
I love how Fran's hair sort of transforms into clouds. Love love love. She is the most sky pirate after all.
Have you noticed that we're just about to start one? We've chosen Final Fantasy Tactics. No need to miss out this time.
Anyway, I'm going to make a front page post about the release date being announced. I want to put up an article about the VII-related news as well but this will go up first so as not to bury it.
And in that one render, she's still rockin some exposed cheek.
Also, why are both of Ashe's renders (that one and the pigeon-toed nose-boop one) at such odds with her character? Is it supposed to be like what she was like before the events of the opening or just...Japan?
SE's actually been doing a bangup job by publishing a lot character renders with insane costume details for cosplayers. I hope it's something they continue doing for future installments.
TZA is getting its own panel at PAX East on March 10th, 1:30-2:30pm.

My brother (Monterosa) just brought up a good question – is there going to be a new official strategy guide? I hope there is, provided Piggyback make it. I still cherish their guide for the original release of XII, probably the best thing they've ever produced.
Good question. I'm sure they will... Didn't they do it with the X/X-2 Remaster?
I have the collector's guide for XII from Brady Games, with the artbook and Balthier on the cover. I was a teenager back then, and didn't really know the difference between strategy guide brands... and it was also the only one I saw in Gamestop back then, so I bought it.
With money that I was supposed to be using for Christmas shopping for friends.

No, they didn't. Bradygames released (another) awful guide for the remaster.
Piggyback only do mainline releases for whatever reason - from reading the blurbs in their guides from game directors and developers, it appears that SE choose an official publisher for each title. I imagine Piggyback are more expensive, so they go for that with mainline releases (mainline releases include direct sequels, like X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns etc.)
You get what you pay for. Bradygames will likely have the contract. Avoid it at all costs unless you like cheap as fuck paper and incorrect information everywhere.
(For those wondering, Bradygames and Prima are the same company).

If I'm not mistaken, the Bradygames guide for X/X-2 is literally just the original X and X-2 guides, with the international stuff thrown in near the end of each respective section.
