...Am I the only person who read this as 'the monsters are more interesting than Serah and Noel' because lmao.

I'm not saying the fal'Cie are gods, but... Really?

I hate how SE just threw away the fal'Cie!

I care more about the fal'Cie than the humans - at least most of the humans that we got to know about. I don't care if humans
stemmed from Etro's blood
, that doesn't mean they are all bad, and I mean beyond Etro. It doesn't make humans all good!

Eh... I am not one for how evil and awful the fal'Cie are, and how great and awesome humans are.

So, no child!Serah and no child!Lightning?

Matsui: When you’re hit with Blood Damage, your maximum HP diminishes.
Toriyama: In FFXIII when you were in a pinch, getting back to full health was relatively easy if you had a Healer in your party, but with Blood Damage it won’t be, so you’ll have to finish enemies off quickly.

Scrappy Mechanic detected?

Dunno, maybe it's just me but I hate it when in a videogame, some enemy attack, item or gameplay mechanic tries to lower my maximum HP. Yeah bitch, you can attack me all you want but DON'T TOUCH MY MAXIMUM HP

IT'S MINE, ALL THOSE HIT POINTS ARE MINE OMG DON'T TOUCH THEM

GRRRRR

Why place such a bullshit mechanic? I can understand the other forms, but this is just too strange for me.

Ahh well, best hope the ending of the game is worth this.

As if the game wasn't difficult enough...now they want to disminish our Maximum HP. Look bitches I work HARD to get my characters to a point where monsters are no problem to kill. DON'T YOU FUCKING TRY TO FINISH ALL MY HARD-WORK.

I originally heard it was a mechanic there to make medics less effecive the more you heal.

It sounds like a pain in the ass, but I consider all status effects pains in the asses. So I'll just see how it plays out in battle and if it makes a battle more intense or just more annoying.

Kinda reminds me of that one status effect in FFXII, the opposite effect of bubble. I forgot, but the first time I encountered it I was like HHOOLLY SHIT WTF IS GOING ON. I hate when the game messes with my parameters.

tbh I'm looking forward to the new mechanic. Sounds like it further encourages strategy and quick thinking in battle which is always a good thing. It'll probably be annoying as shit at first but like Splintered said, that's pretty much the story for all negative status effects.

THe new mechanic sounds fine to me. But I wouldn't call XIII easy. I probably got more game overs than I did in any other. I've said this before, but while I'm sure SOME of that has to do with the Shin Megami Tensei style die-when-the-leader-dies, but frankly most of the times my party leader died the others probably weren't very far behind.

Every fight with Barthandelus, except maybe the last one and especially the first one, was pretty darn rough. And I found most of the battles in the entire final dungeon, especially the minibosses, difficult.

For some reason, I soared though the last three stages of Barty. I think this has to do more with the fact that I accidentally made Lightning my sentinel when I really didn't mean to, freaked out until I found out she was dodging all of Bart's attacks :3

I had issues with Cid Raines, the other Bart encounters, and the summons. Difficulty is strange in XIII because there's a huge spike after Chapter X, and it mostly forces you to try paragims and roles you weren't familiar with before. Not to mention Gran Pulse, which mixes relatively easy battles, with the more difficult battles (granted visually, you should be able to pick out who not to fight). I spent hours trying to fight the Behemoth+three lion-eque monsters and dying, only to realize later there was a better grinding spot (behemoth and the giant lion thing).

I think I mostly like the tempo of the battles. Some of the marks were hard, but they were extremely fun (beating indomitable will was amazing).

Yeah I forgot the Eidolons, Odin and Bahamut especially gave me lots of trouble.

And yeah, when you first arrive on Gran Pulse, you are WAY out of your league. As you should be.

How can there be Cie'th if not by the actions of a fal'Cie?

People now spontaneously burst into Cie'th-hood?

Toriyama said:
You’ll see a new Cie’th outbreak, but not because of the fal’Cie. Missions similar to those of FFXIII will also be found.

From http://www.novacrystallis.com/?p=1668 , under the picture of Kaias.

And according to this picture, the Cie'th outbreak we do see is because of ...

Anima! It's Anima who scans Serah's arm to see her (now vanished) brand.

?!?!?!?!

Grinding never did anything for me - which is what I give that game a ton of credit for - it was always a matter of changing my strategy.

I never grinded until the endgame. Using different strategies and paradigms worked just as much. Barthandelus was a cunt though. Especially because of the time limit. :P

To tell you the truth I didn't found the monsters at all difficult...but leveling the characters and their weapons ...that I did find difficult.
I do like the system though, so far the leveling system I loved very much. Well...second after FFX. Because unlike other games expanding a characters abilities is way much easier. And Barthandeleus, I've been finding him easier depending on how many times I've passed the game lol. The first one sucked, the second not so much...This is my third so I'm still to see.

The cystaium system really did grow on me. But I'll always hate the weapon upgrade system.

So much rage and time. Then farming for the Traps FFUUUU

I grinded for the Treasure Hunter with Cie'th Mission 24 "A Potent Sting". It's on the 5th floor of Taejin's Tower and the mark is literally feet from the stone (so you can just run back and forth between them)

You get a Moonblossom Seed for winning and the battle takes 12 seconds tops (and about 4 seconds if you get a preemptive strike). Moonblossom Seeds sell for 6,000 gil, and you can fight that battle between 5 and 10 times a minute. That gives you 30-60,000 gil per minute. I worked out, because I'm a dork, that should get you per hour, on average, what you would get for fighting Adamantoises that drop Platinum Ingots 20% of the time, and this way you're not leaving it up to luck.

I didn't even bother trying to get the treasure hunter achievement. Maxing out the crystaium and getting tier three weapons was good enough for me, I don't hate myself enough for trying to remember which accessories I have or not >___>
