Probably because they couldn't think of a way to extend Gladio since where he is...well, it lacked other people besides Cor. The only people that were there were just dead people threatening to kill them. Besides, what else can you do in a beautiful but desolated place like Gilgamish's trials?
I think Episode Ignis will be short too as well as Lunafreya's. Not sure about Ardyn's though. Maybe that'll be the longest out of all of them when it comes to DLC storylines.
Last time you briefly played a villian in the storyline(non-DLC) was Seymour in FFX.
I didn't know they confirmed an episode for Luna or Ardyn. When was this announced?
Personally, I don't think Ardyn needs an episode. I don't need to know more about his backstory. The only fault with his story is that we didn't find out anything about his motivations or past until there were only a few hours left in the game, depending on how long you spent going through Chapter 14. After that, I understood his background and motivations just fine--he just had the worst reaction to getting fired, ever.
Also, there's plenty that they could have done with Gladio's character in his own episode; they just chose to focus more on the combat, giving one of the least liked characters in XV the shaft in his own DLC.
doesn't typically involve a jealous coworker framing you for, say, terrorism and then murdering you, only for the boss firing you to then reward the other person with a promotion to your position.
Not that it justifies anything he did, mind you, but it was a little more complicated than that description entails. =P

Ardyn didn't actually do what he was supposed to do in the first place like what Noctis had done in the end of the game. Instead, he chose to do it his way and Noctis ancestor demonized him due to fear and the Astrals agreed that it was dangerous due the Daemons inside the crazy dude's body.
I was partially being sarcastic with that comment. I know that a DLC for either character hasn't been announced, nor will I hold out hope for one. But if I had to choose between the two, it'd be Luna in a heartbeat.
What would you be hoping to see out of an Episode Luna? I don't know that I can see what to do with her, so for those who are very interested in that option, I'm curious what you have in mind that I've failed to consider.
I think X said it, but cba to go back and look on it... I'd like to see more of the toll that forging the covenants and healing people of Starscourge takes on her... There was a comparison brought up about how her ability to heal people of 'darkness' i.e. Starscourge is very similar to what Ardyn did, but he drew it into himself, whereas she... doesn't? Or does she? I want answers.
I realize she doesn't have much to go off of, gameplay wise, but there needs to be some type of redeeming story content for her. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a character more hated/disliked/controversial in all my years of being an FF fan. I love Luna, but she got shafted.
I could think of some more interesting stuffs when I'm not deprived of sleep at 3 in the morning.
– like with Cor/Gladio (and hopefully like we'll be seeing soon with Prompto), I feel like spending specific time with the characters gives you a little bit of a closer connection with them in just getting to go through an experience as them, vs. the version where we get to learn about events they were involved in. If anything, we know that a lot of people felt like the connection between Noctis & Luna was a little distant because they never got time together aside from when they were kids and were at a distance through the game. I feel if we have that, that losing her is gonna feel even more significant, because we know her more, and with the main story being Noctis' PoV, that getting little pieces of how the characters see things on their own when we spend a little time in their shoes.
Also – while story content with Luna's activities would reveal little bits and pieces, the delivery of that would be much different when being able to play as her. Additionally, as much as I'm just incredibly interested in things like Noctis' Disappearance, The World of Ruin, & The Line of Lucis – I have to feel like they're absolutely gonna be getting support from the community at large. Additionally, I feel like having a bit of time as Luna could really give the story as-is a little emotional boost from outside of the Chocobros.
Personally, I think Episode Luna(if that becomes a reality) will be similiar to Rise of the Tomb Raider DLC Bloodties where
there wasn't any fighting at all. Just wandering around looking for clues.
Speaking of which, I re-watched the six minute preview of Episode Prompto and it kind of reminds me of the gameplays of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Still looking forward to it, though. Call me crazy, but I kind of like Prompto.
—Third: Apparently there is going to be a FFXV Official Comic Anthology released next month, with several artists contributing. Note that such things are usually written for comedy, so don't order this in the hopes that there will be some new lore revealed here or anything like that
—Most players also don't make use of the lodgings on the train post-Chapter 9, and so they may not see these mega feelsy Ignis moments:
First, in this one during Chapter 10, everyone's feeling down, but Iggy just looks so much more defeated than we're used to seeing from him (his arm sure ain't over his eyes to block the light ...); and he somehow looks even more defeated in this one after they've lost Prompto, who we can see had made it his job to look after Ignis following his injury
—On a note very much related to the previous item, it really struck a chord me how Ignis went from seeing Prompto as rather expendable early on (exhibit A; exhibit B) to personally depending on him so much -- and ultimately looking appropriately devastated in this shot after they lost him
—Someone on Reddit noticed that Noctis's animation while using the Death spell via the Ring of the Lucii is the same as when he's absorbing elemental deposits
—Big time WTF here -- I don't even know how to describe what happens, just watch it; be aware that there are gameplay spoilers for Chapter 9, though
—Noctis taking on
Ifrit while younger rather than when he looks like John Wick; note that utilizing this glitch is also the only way you'll see Gentiana transform into Shiva around 20-year-old Noctis without him wrapping his arms around himself
Fuck, Aranea looks really good in that coat. Way better than her standard outfit too.
Storywise it also looks more interesting than Gladio's DLC (which I haven't played tbh) although I can't help but think this should've been part of the main story. =P
Yes, I got that distinct vibe throughout the trailer too. Which is funny because Episode Gladio reminded me of X. But I got some Deepground vibes from this trailer, aside from the obvious ones about failed experiments and wacko scientists and all that.
I'm kinda getting tired of the voices they give these scientists, btw. I know they're technically 'evil' but yeesh, people don't normally talk like that.
I'm pretty sure that this Episode is gonna hit me right in the feels, but if they have an Episode Ignis trailer at the end of all of it, that it's gonna REALLY make me a little emotional wreck. I am prepared, but I am not prepared.
IT'S ONLY A WEEK AWAY!!!
Speaking of which, is Gladio was X-like, and Prompto is VII-like, what's Ignis' gonna be like?

I'm wondering who the guest character in Episode Ignis is going to be, if we get one at all, because story reasons. Technically the party is all together at that point, unless they decide to split up, which I hope they do.

Prompto, Gladio, & Ignis all start together to care for the citizens while Noctis goes to meet up with Luna & Leviathan. About halfway through, Prompto leaves to pick up Noctis on the sky motorcycle, so there's at least the point where they start together before the city gets properly messed up. We don't know what happens or who finds
Noctis unconscious and Luna deceased. I'm assuming that the three chocobros have to all get split up at some point during the chaos, but I'm still burning to know how it all goes down.
If Ravus IS involved at some point, it'll be really interesting to see if we have any hints about the side that he takes or not.
