Does anyone know if the method for God mode has been patched? I'm trying it for the first time and the early steps feel impossible. It's like they moved an invisible wall on me compared to videos.
I'm pretty sure the various methods for implementing it have been patched, yes. If you still have saves in which it was already active, you can still load them, but that's it.
Overall the event was relatively enjoyable. Still haven't done many of the extra games, but may get around to that still. A bit annoyed that the prizes get reduced after your first win at them. I had a couple fun little things to share:
The very bad:
(My video descriptions have little rants as well)
Why he walks into the walls like this is anyone's guess, but it is a early warning sign of the level of QA attention this section has.
Dear fucking gods. I got soft reset on the starting sequence repeat so many times just because I forgot what I did at the start and Prompto's things only trigger once (why I had to repeat this bit again at all baffles me).
Then, it's just a mad dash around while watching the minimap with no stealth whatsoever to corner him (in which case, why did any of the stealth before that matter?) — and that's when the shitshow REALLY kicks into gear. It's like their QA department went on a fucking holiday and didn't actually test anything.
I even just stood there during the final boss fight because I knew there were no consequences to getting damaged whatsoever, which made the whole confrontation extremely anticlimactic, as did the fact that he's somehow yelling after his mech has completely exploded. If anything needed a cutscene, that should have been it.
So, overall it was a decent tie-in, with some enjoyable stuff, and probably some more fun left to do while wandering around after completing the story junk, but lacked a good bit of polish at the end that kinda ruined the experience for me completely.
Jumped in and did the Melusine quest, which made more sense having done it after the AC event (since it's from the aforementioned dude). Then Tres motivated me to check out my Bestiary. Amusingly, you can't pan or zoom around on any of the lady monster models, so you can't oggle teh booborz, but I really was a bit sad that I can't check out Melusine's Serpents in more detail, because it says it's two-headed, but I swore it had two tails and was just two Serpents when I fought it, and not I can't check that out. :/
Also, I am missing 9 things from the Bestiary I ought to get around to fighting to complete it. This works as a good motivator, so I'm gonna try and hunt these ones down:

Isn't there a Daemon Wall in the cliff sides in the World of Ruin, down near Galdin Quay? I never bothered to fight the things, but I remember arms reaching out to try and grab you and stuffs.

I'm pretty sure there is, but I never wandered over to it. There's also one in one of the final hunting quests, so, I'm working through those, as I'm pretty sure completing those should take care of everything except the Rogue monsters, and the Niflheim thing that I've somehow missed.
he was to be the first king of Lucis. Was this something we already knew? I'm sure it was just speculation until now. Also his picture shows him with a Crossbow that I don't recall him using...
about him being intended to be the first king, yes. It's more clear in the Japanese text/audio than the English localization, but it's where Bahamut says "One so impure of body and soul was deemed unworthy of the Crystal’s Light, and forbidden to ascend." In Japanese, this was その汚れた身体を聖石に拒まれ王位に就くことなく葬られた愚かな男 -- "A foolish man who was rejected by the Holy Stone for that unclean body and was buried without ascending to the throne."
Regarding the crossbow, he has all the same royal arms as Noctis, so, yeah, he had that already.

Going off of that, it's been bothering me lately how some folks (mostly on Tumblr) seem to think that Gilgamesh was Ardyn's shield,
when A) it was never explicitly stated, and B) Ardyn was never even a king to even have a shield to begin with. I know some things have been left in the air with this story, but I think if Gilgamesh actually had been a protector to Ardyn at one point, they'd have no problem stating it. People are just running wild with theories at this point.
How come it looks like eternal sunset and not darkness like at the end of XV? >.> I can't be the only one giving that light in the multiplayer the side eye.
