I can't believe I'm living in a time where my boys are crossing over to other game franchises. Truly, I'm living in the brightest age. (some things not withstanding hadjhhaksh)

Gonna be starting dis game tonight. Will have thoughts later, perhaps.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Europe when the Ignis DLC happens, so I'll miss that this playthrough. Sadness.

Okay that Multiplayer looks like shit.

I never thought I'd say this, but SquareEnix, I have officially lost all faith in you. You're just another multi million Evil Corp sucking the life money out of people because your management is shit.

I never jumped on the hate train before when opinions like these were posted but I am now. I'm gonna spend the rest of my days an old grump praising the olden days and hatin' on the new. :monster:

I'm with Fangu; somehow they managed to salvage XV's development hell - barely - and somehow it caught on - reasonably - and somehow they're able to pump a bit more money into it that will allow them to make more money and their investments back - it's been 8+ years people. And they'll learn nothing. It teaches them that mismanagement and wasted effort is okay, because their fans will eat whatever shit comes out of them anyway, pay for it, thank them for it, and ask for seconds.

XV would've been all right as a late PS3 title - MAYBE.

Having actually played all of the DLC – the Multiplayer Beta included – I have to say that even the paired down version of Comrades that was in the Beta was fun, and all of the standalone content stuff's been really enjoyable to PLAY, especially when you don't take in a bunch of preconceptions about it.

That being said, I don't think that they'll learn nothing from XV, because if they'd done their work efficiently, they'd've been profiting from a functional model for 8+ years when they were just stuck in development hell. There're lessons to be learned, and FFVIIR coming as a multi-part release is at least one part of that, though it's hard to say anything concrete about that at the moment.

Also, knowing what things like Shadow of Mordor had to cut out to be a "late PS3 title" (everything that made it great), there's no way XV would've worked the way it is now as a PS4 game as still had all the good things it currently has. :awesomonster:

On the non-pessimism squad: Be prepared to hear a lot about Comrades as soon as it's up, since hopefully, me, Lith, & Tres will be teaming up for some fun early on.

...It still hasn't been out for a year yet, and there hasn't been any paid dlc other than what they announced there would be from the beginning.

As far as FFs go, I won't be forgetting XV any time soon, that's for sure.

And while there are plenty of things I regret not being in this game, the extra DLC isn't one of them.

Sorry Fangu, but I have to disagree with your assessment.

It's one thing to make mistakes, but Squeenix appears to be "reversing" their losses a little at a time and that's a good thing. (Expecting perfection on Day 1 Release is unreasonable... No game is "perfect".)

The fact they're throwing crossovers in the mix is definitely a plus in my book.

Now, I can't say I was ever IN to games like Tekken or Smash Bros... but I was a Dissidia fan before all that hype.

You'll need to search on the store for Comrades, it's not listed under Final Fantasy XV, or in the store section on the games menu.

For anyone wondering, the UK price is £15.99.

Or it's free for Season Pass holders. :monster:

I literally just searched comrades (I just got to "com" tbh) and it was the first result.

I'm hoping to get it tonight, since I had to pass out early last night as I had a super important meeting this morning. REALLY looking forward to diving into this.

Characters are going to cook meals for you after missions.

Can't wait for Aranea to cook for me.

My first impression is that for a Multi-expansion it sure feels 1-Player.

I like the custom bits enough that it's tantalizing enough to feel like an MMO, but still focused enough to feel like you can go at a single player pace.

I never got the chance to play FF11 or FF14, so I'm getting my feet wet here.

Still, I burn through my MP way too easily, so I'm sticking to physical attacks for now.

So, the missus helped me make myself for Comrades, and I cannot express how awesome it is to play as myself in a Final Fantasy game. (Got even better once I bought some replacement glasses from Iris).

I am fucking LOVING Comrades so far, and it's lots of fun if you party chat first. Played a little bit with a friend from college today. Definitely gonna do some stuff with the TLS folk soooooon~ It definitely works to play solo, but GODS, it's awesome to play with folks.

I'll show you guys my character later.

Leveling up is slow going however.

The Defense missions definitely require Teamwork (or at least 1-hit kills).

If I didn't know better, this smacks of Gundam Breaker and Monster Hunter.

I was able to play longer than I expected to last night:

I was going to make my avatar look like me, but it quickly became too much work. It ended up being easier to make him a somewhat better-looking version of me.
