Ah, I see it this time. Thanks. I wonder if that's actually related to the storyline? Wasn't "Final Trial" a separate thing on the menu from "New Game"/"Load Game"? Makes you (i.e. me) wonder.

Interview w/ Haruyoshi Sawatari about Episode Gladiolus and Chapter 13 update (spoilers obviously)

The chapter 13 additions sound pretty cool:

"So before, obviously, it was just Noctis by himself, kind of alone without the powers of his weapon summoning abilities. But what we’ve done for chapter 13, is we’ve added a separate route for Gladio and Ignis after they get split off from Noctis, so you actually get to play as Gladio, and see what happened from their side of things until they reunited with Noctis. You’ll see some additional cutscenes [that] just show you what took place while Noctis was kind of on his own. You’ll get some actual gameplay with the party of Gladio and Ignis together. You’ll see what happened to Emperor Aldercapt and Revis, and where they ended up being during the whole time. These are just the supplementary scenes that were added into chapter 13, and that’s just for chapter 13. But aside from that, we’re overhauling the ring magic, so the three spells that you could use with the Ring of the Lucii, those are completely powerful now, like super powerful now. So those are some other things to look forward to."

It's a shame they couldn't put some of that Chapter 13 content in the game as we initially got it... But I'm glad they recognize that parts of the story are incomplete and trying to rectify it. :)

I have solely been waiting on this stuff to kick off my NG+ so I am greatly looking forward to seeing how it feels in execution, especially given that I already liked chapter 13, despite its flaws. It'll be neat to see how it feels replaying it front to back once that's all in place.

Same. I had started a NG+ after I had finished the game, but then I thought the better of it. What sucks is I saved my Moogle Chocobo stuff into the NG+ slot, which I will overwrite when I actually start a new game, since I started playing on my old save.

So I'm at Chapter 13. I've heard it's a lot longer in comparison to CHs 10-12, so I probably have a bit of a way to go - I've also heard the word "controversial" being thrown around, so I'm curious to see what may have given rise to this.

Seeing that the current Timed Quest requires me to be at CH. 15, I'm going to try for a push tonight and get to 15, as I'll only get the chance to play this again tonight and Monday (also, I want to complete the story before flying out to London next week for KupoCon - I got really lucky not to have had any details spoiled while I was in Newark, haha).

I'm somewhere in the range of level 88-90 (and currently with about 90,000+ EXP for each character), so I can't see the rest of the story being much of a problem :P

All in all, I'm just looking forward to joining the rest of you and going through this thread with the confidence to read what's in spoiler tags :D

It's a little too long, but the wailing and gnashing of teeth over it was melodramatic, imo.

Also I was level 40-something at that part, lol

It's just longer compared to the rest of the chapters. You're also kind of... limited to what weapons and spells you can use. :closedmonster:

I thought it was a challenging part of the game, one that I actually had fun with. *glares at Pitioss Dungeon*

If it seems to be running a little choppy, go here to see it flow with more fluidity.

I also quite liked it. It's the part that made me REALLY want to see
how they pull of Trail of Blood in the FFVII Remake, because it's got a darker overall tone in a similar way.

*glares specifically at the two parts near the bottom of the Pitioss Dungeon*

Also, I still don't think that I've ever seen
Titan summoned in a single battle in my game (either that or I saw him once with really awkwardly placed visuals). Ramuh is still disproportionately present whenever the Summon option appears, followed closely by Shiva. Hell, I've even seen friggin Leviathan get summoned 3-4 times.

Yup, I agree. I didn't see what was so bad. It was different - anything shorter or too samey might've caused people to complain about the game being too short/rushed and even lacking variety after a particular point.

Yeah, I had no trouble fighting anything, not even those lvl. 84 Daemonwalls. I ended up completing the game at LVL. 95, heeee.

I actually experienced the Pitioss Dungeon for a few seconds yesterday.
After completing the game, I went to load CH. 15 to see would anything be different when I return to Lucis. Immediately I have access to the Regalia Type-F. So, I went straight to towards the Rock of Ravatogh 'cause I remember that elusive yellow line kept catching my eye in the past, so I figured there's something up here. And, aye, I checked the name of the place online and that was the one. I'll be giving it a full try sometime soon enough, but so far I think it's going to be kinda lacklustre.

"If you fail to land the game will be over."
Haha, if I can confess for a moment, I have a good giggle whenever I crash the Regalia and I've had a few occasions where I've properly bust my shit laughing over ridiculous moments. So, once I saw this, well, I experienced my first game over. Straight into a mountain, singing the victory theme tune.
Proof:
Prompto: No, no, no, no, no!"

EDIT: Also have never gotten Titan.

Yeah, I just feel the section kinda culminates when you
reach Prompto and fight some soldiers AND a spider daemon. That was when I used Banish, and felt like a badass. I didn't really need a second sneaky section after that. But otherwise it really wasn't that bad.

I've summoned Ramuh many times, and Shiva and Leviathan quite a few times also. Never summoned Titan. I don't even know what the criteria for summoning him is. :closedmonster:

Have fun with Pitioss, Red. :wackymonster:

Yeah, I thought landing the airship there would be half the battle, and then I went inside the dungeon itself. :awesomonster:

Same here (but really just those two sections were the worst). :bigawesomonster:

Also - the Summons showing up vary by geography in the game as well as battle conditions.
