How're you feeling about Magic so far? I've become addicted to fighting with a Spear, but being from the Crown City, I feel like I ought to be putting some effort into using Magic properly.
TL;DW:High Mode on XB1X offers the best overall experience with the best looking graphics at constant 30fps with no frame pacing issue (outside of certain scenarios).
In like a month or two there will be a guide on IGN telling you the perfect build for each class, and the recipeh for every weapon, and location of every item, complete with maps and youtube videos. Groups will coordinate which ingredients to get in missions so they can get the meal that they want. Nothing will be mystery.
It's very exciiting to be here, doing this new and figuring these things out with you guys.
Yes. Absolutely. That's part of what I loved so much about the early stages of XV was just exploring and wondering at things when the world still felt kinda dangerous, and this COMPLETELY recaptures those emotions – which is even more enhanced by the fact that my avatar is incredibly like me such that I feel like geeking out about it constantly.
I've seen a lot of images of people trying to make Lighting avatars, even some Luna ones. But I haven't yet seen anyone try making Stella...would have thought someone would try to bring her back
Kicking Ignis out of town despite being under-leveled. I stun-locked him using a bow gun that did 15 damage on average, but I'm patient. VERY patient.
The name's Blade Galewind. What's not to like about this face? You'll see his face more often in OC RPG projects in the future (with spikier hair perhaps).
Katanas and water look good together!
Doing the Jitterbug in front of an Ugly Audience. Esuna+Jitterbug is a great Buffing combination.
Being "Sentinel" (Shield of the Just) is the cushiest job ever. All I gotta do is sit and block and occasionally buff people and let THEM do all the work, EASY EXP! Barrier II+Protect or Cure is great for Shields too. Whenever I run out of MP I just use an Osmosis Bowgun and regen my MP.
By the way, I ran in to Kenny Crow, and the guy who runs Crow's Nest cooked for me (French Fries). Also Cindy showed up too.
And at one point they tried to make me eat something made from Malboro Tentacles... it looked scary but gave me a Death-Protection buff.
It's fun to make silly comments at dinner time "It's time to retreat!"
Episode Gladio was great. Took X's advice, and did it after Gladio comes back to the party. Wish it would have been a bit longer, but not sure how to have made it so without it being tedious. Got me mah Genji Blade, tho, so I'm happy.
Words of Advice #2: Do NOT equip and/or use Elemental Spells/Weapons that HEAL a Boss while everyone else is trying to KILL IT. This is borderline trolling!
Teamed up with Lith & Tenny, and also Tres & Tenny today. Loved it. Wrecked through some high-level missions, and am right at the edge of being able to bring power to Galdin Quay now and will almost certainly compete it tomorrow. (43 hours in to Comrades and absolutely loving the hell out of it still).
All my screenshots from the weekend are on Twitter (will add them to the relevant thread tomorrow). I did a SHITTON of streaming as well, but my one today has the best stuff. Also have a build I really like.
Also, something that Tres & I noticed that is REALLY well done is that when you start Comrades, the lighting is like a very light dusk, but as the missions get more and more difficult, the lighting continually gets darker, and more daemons start spawning as enemies throughout the missions, and by the time your missions are around level 30, it's pitch black all the time, and that lighting remains when you return to Lestallum.
It's a really nice way of being able to appreciate the barren / ruined landscapes and other things
especially on the Chocobo Ranch
where you'd completely miss a lot of the really exceptional detail if it was all dark from the start. It also does well to continually build on the level of despair and demonic as you continue outwards from Lestallum as a safe haven.
Here's the whole stream from yesterday where I'm with Lith, Tenny, & Tres for some of the time. I'll find some cool timestamps if I cba at some point.
Also, I'm getting a PSVR, so that my missus can play Skyrim VR on the PS4, which means that I'll also be diving into Monster of the Deep, so my life is basically going to be consumed with FFXV things from now until mid-December.

WELP! It was definitely fun wandering in the dark (literally and figuratively) but it looks like we're in the land of the Comrades guides now. (I will appreciate optimizing my build as I get further on and need to invest more time in maxing out weapons and such).
