Did this little dragon hatchling sketch last week; I had so much fun. Drawing dragons is a joy. :joy:
It's actually what's called an 'Adoptable', which on DA is basically a design of a creature/character that people purchase the rights to use from you, so once they buy the character, it's their character.

Called a 'Fur Ruff' dragon. Totally creative.

Have some more work pencil sketches! :monster: These both took prooobably an hour apiece or so. I like them both. :D I sketch on them when there's no0thing to do at the moment, such as when no patients are coming in for half an hour.

Here's my fluffy furry snow-loving dragon:

And here's a sea dragon being taken out for an early morning ride by his young rider and two friends. He's a nice dragon. :awesome: I don't draw kids too often, but this was fun. Also, pic's a little blurry, so sorry. ;_;

Lots of great stuff in this thread! Neat dragon designs, in particular (I love the marsh dragon sculpture), and those owls are super adorable.

Aw, thank you, Mogget! :loveglomp: I love drawing dragons, so I'm glad they come off as neat. :awesome:
And sculpting is a ton of fun, it's a whole different world from pencil and paper; holding a 3D dragon or object like that in my hands makes it worth the extra hours. <3

So because the full-length looked so small on here, I decided to post a cropped version of my Halloween entry for the contest last month on here, just cropped to show Reddas's head. Because it's a big pic and hard to see the details--oh and some nice zombie details too. :awesome:

And I'll throw in a bit more info on my research into this drawing. But first, a big thanks to Lithium on here for providing me with some much bigger and better quality pics of Reddas in the first place, which allowed me to get the details of his face down a lot better. :properhug:

I mentioned before about the picture 'regressing' back in time, with the present day on the left and the past on the right, and Reddas himself shows this, which is why his helmet is forming on the back half of his head.
So I searched for concept art of Reddas, but realized there's nothing on him of when he was Judge Zecht, and thus.... he actually has no official armor. :wacky:

Instead, I got pictures of the other 5 Judges and took some ideas, trying to get a feel for the style of the armor. And then I learned that some of the armor designs in FF XIV were inspired by the Archadian Judge designs, specifically the Imperial Legatus armor (I've never played XIV). Which led me to character's Gaius Van Baelsar and Nael Van Darnus, which, if you notice, Darnus's helmet was the biggest inspiration for Zecht's.

So yeah, I mixed some stuff together and did a couple designs and what you see is the final result.

For the enemies~
The zombie in the purple cloak is the Zombie Warlock from the Necrohol, and the undead scythe dude is the Oversoul enemy. I made another couple zombies, and then a dying moogle and bangaa, both of which I got the idea for after reading that first translated chapter from the XII novel (with the moogle screaming and the bangaa mother looking for her family).

....And then of course is the Midlight Shard, glowing and stuff. And then Nabudis, which I rushed through in the final picture to finish it in time, so I never got to show the city design like I planned and instead covered it with tornadoes everywhere (which was going to be there in the first place, but I was going to show more of the buildings).

Um, and so, that's like the details of this pic. I tend to do a lot of research to make sure these things are accurate and I have a ton of fun doing it because I'm a nerd. :awesome: AND BECAUSE IT'S LORE.
So yeah. Feast your eyes on zombies and a Reddas wracked with guilt. Making pained expressions isn't something I'm used to.

^I've always found Reddas a fascinating and underappreciated character - and not that he isn't liked, but that he just deserves more thought in general.

I picked up on your concepts immediately.
I mean, there's so much that can be said for the picture (from the armour, the light and dark, contrast of the exposed part of Reddas etc., aspects full of metaphor at that); it all worked so perfectly!

Here's just a little sketch I did on my iPad with my fingers this evening, in light of the recent horrible terrorist attacks in Paris. Nothing much, but it's my way of showing support. :)

Oookaaaay, here's a 30 minutes sketch for color practice and me seeing how fast I can churn out an idea in my head! Went with a fox because I randomly remembered Mage talking about foxes and it sounded fun to doodle. :monster:

More abstract than Fire Fox, but I just wanted to play with colors more on a dark background. XD Took me 25 minutes; not as good as the Fire Fox concept, but I love these colors. <3

Okay those are pretty amazing; even more so if they only took you 30 minutes. :monster:

I think that last one you posted would make a great clay babyyyyy, hmmmmm? :awesome:

Aw, thanks Howl! :loveglomp: <3 You know, I love doing sketches almost more than big illustrations; they're so quick and flowy.

Oh my, if I could sculpt it and paint it with justice....!! Yes, that would be so cool! :excited: I haven't been sculpting this past month because I'm trying to work on my illustrations... but I have a couple things I need to finish before Christmas, and I might make some gifts, so... I've been wanting to sculpt things again lately. :D

Man, I'm really into sketching lately. 30 minutes or something for this one too. I wanted to draw a dragon that's been around for years, though he's immortal so age isn't necessarily a problem for him. He's enjoying the setting sun on a grassy edge.

ancient_ice_by_bahamutdeusmodus-d9jfat9.jpg

Inspired by the colder weather lately, and I want snow so maybe this'll make the heavens give me some. :awesome:

I was thinking of drawing a deer, but I have no idea how to draw a deer head without reference, so it turned out horse-like instead. And draconic too because why the hell not? :monster: I wanted it to be an ancient ice being, so there's icicles constantly forming on this creature from the moisture that gathers on it's body, and they break off in strong winds and regrow constantly.

Kept the colors soft and icy to make it more 'cool'. I enjoyed this. <3

Haha no worries, I'm a major fan of people who can draw and utterly envious of the skills you have shown.
