I realized I've never put this picture on here, but since I use it for my Skype profile pic and it was mentioned, I figured I'd show it off here in it's full size. :monster: I drew it about 2 in a half years ago on my computer, and it's actually fanart of one of Wood Splitter Lee's poeseable fantasy creatures, her Thunder Stag.
Anyways, I really had fun painting this. Enjoy. <3

That's fucking glorious. The antlers in particular look ridiculously real.

It looks amazing. Agree'd, the antlers do look very real. Plus kudos for fanarting Woodsplitter Lee's work. (*nerding*). :D

That's unreal!
I'm not versed in art in general, but when I think of paints and look at your image I can't help but think "that's not possible", "not with paint, at least" :P

But, no, it's painted. And you're just ridiculously talented.

Hehe, thank you Howl! :glomp: I just had to fanart one of her creatures, the temptation was too great! And that stag was beautiful. <3

This is done digitally though, not with traditional paints, just in case you thought that! It'd be much more impressive if I had done it on a canvas, as there's less room for mistakes. :awesome: Digital allows you to repaint as many times as you want.

But thank you for the compliment Red, I appreciate it! :loveglomp:

Also, two pics in one day woot, here's the recent sketch I did a short while ago today. I was playing with layer options again, it was fun. <3
I need to do some fantasy stuff in between working on the pages of my children's book illustrations!

I see - I guess I've painted digitally too:
Just indicating that messing with this is about as much as I know :P

I stand by my comment 100% ^_^ - Bottom line is its very impressive!

Say, I've just seen your other post as I'm typing this - have you posted any pictures of your illustrations yet for your children's book [or is it best to keep those private for now]?

heh, well still, thanks Red :loveglomp:

I'm keeping the children's book under wraps for now until I've finished it and it gets published, which might not even happen this year, it all depends on when I finish it and how long publishing will take.
I might release the first page's image though once it's out, to help generate interest (if it would work that way?). The illustrations are full page spreads, btw, so they take up the entire page (10"x16"). It's why it's taking me a while. ^_^

Oh, my link was broke - it's fixed now into the MS paint picture I had originally linked. Just thought I'd say this in case you had no idea where I was going with the first part of my post :P

Anyway, that's cool about the children's book. Keep it all under wraps until it's ready! It'll be something to look forward to when it all comes to fruition :) - Great things are worth the wait, and from the creator's point of view worth all the time in the world to finalise/perfect.

OOOH, it sounds so impressive, Flare! I'm very excited for you, it would be great to see even a teeny bit once it's published and everything <3

Oh I got it. I was wondering what you meant. :awesome: I used MS paint too years ago, but only did a couple pics on it that my grandpa taught me to paint.

And thanks! I'll be sure to let everyone know when it's done; I know it's a children's book so no one here will probably be interested in it, lol :D But still, when it's out any of you guys can check it out! <3

Aw, thank you Crash! :joy: I'd love to show a preview for it once it's out! It actually takes place in England, the little boy (the main character) is in a sailor outfit an everything. :D

These latest two pieces are amazing. Love love love

Especially the Thunder Stag. <3

Aww, thank you so much Tenny! :loveglomp: I really appreciate that. <3

OH MY DAYS! Sounds soo adorable! Is it a lil bit like olden days-ish then?

Hehe :D I think it's around 1900, so yeah, more of the olden days than nowadays! I kind of use some of the stuff I see in Downton Abbey for a real reference, like building architecture and whatnot. The little boy lives in a manor, so Downton Abbey is a decent place to take note of for me. ^_^

Recent sketch this morning, enjoyed myself :monster:

Felt like playing with colors (as usual) and trying out using different colors for shading and lighting than the base color I used (such as dark blue for shadows on a green surface). Kept the colors on the cool end of the spectrum for the most part, ended up thinking of some sort of exotic creature in a glowing forest. <3
I put the DA watermark on there and at first glance thought it was in the way... but then I thought it looked like some tattoo over the creature's eye, and thought it looked cool, so I'm keeping it. :awesome:
Also, I mirrored the image once I was done sketching it; sometimes it's fun to do that. I liked having the light on the right instead of the left, so I left it mirrored.

Not a drawing, this time it's just a photo. My avocado tree's leaf with the sunlight shining through it. Looked too gorgeous to pass up, and I happened to spot it while I was walking by. <3 My iPad can take some nice close-ups sometimes. :awesome:

So Flare, I got this OC who summons a dragon... How are you at drawing people's too?

Here's my latest sculptures, some charms that were commissioned by Mayo Master here on TLS during the holidays. ^_^ I'm very grateful for the commission and had a ton of fun with these charms, because these charms consist of Pokemon and a Totoro. What's not to love. :awesome:

Unfortunately when I took these pics, it was bad weather outside and I wasn't able to take them with the natural lighting I prefer, so the colors have a more yellowish tint then they do for real! The Totoro especially came out looking, er, yellow in these pics, but he isn't, he's a dark gray with a hint of brown, and has a very light tan belly.

Next up will be a realistic, though miniature, rattlesnake. Dear God I'm not looking forward to that paint job. :closedmonster:

Also HOW DID I NOT SEE THESE BEFORE OMG

Also HOW DID I NOT SEE THESE BEFORE OMG

Well as for people, I usually do sketches in a semi-real style (like mixing manga and realistic together), but I've done more real stuff before, like these two things for example:
Sephiroth :monster:

And these are actual real people... supposed to be my cousin and I. :awesome: I did this a couple years ago.

So I think I can draw people pretty good, if I take my time on it. :) Why're you asking?

As for why you didn't see those before, I assumed you didn't check my thread when I'd posted them :awesome:

If you wanna commission me, yes I'm very interested :awesome: I do have a couple things on my plate right now so... it wouldn't be right away. :wacky: Specifically I have a drawing and sculpture commission and my children's book; I'd like to finish one or both of the commissions first before starting on another one.

Also, that picture looks wicked. I love that; are you thinking of having a background and all in color like that too? I'll just let you know now, the more stuff like that, all those details and whatnot, it would cost more than if it was just a drawing of your human OC or the human and the dragon together. Backgrounds definitely add more time. :)

Oh, obviously, but also depends on your comfort zone, price, things like that. I'm in no rush to get anything done, but your love for dragons made me especially want to choose you for it. :)

In the end, with my OC, she's a blind Summoner who, to save the world (cheeeeesy) summons a dragon from the moon, shattering it... so if there is any background going on, like a
Sonic_moon_boom_532.jpg

images
and then like, this big, white silvery dragon in the sky/maybe landed and then with the OC sort of small in the foreground.
