Akira's pretty epic, and the manga's even more epic. er. ish. I've read the whole thing on my PC, which isn't just imho. The movie's a lot more abridged, and if I recall correctly, the manga continues on for a long while after the ending of the anime. It's a shame it (i.e. the version I read) was almost fully black and white though, :/. But I'm sure they've made a colored version by now. If not, they should.
As for me, I watched Taken last night. Typical Steven Seagal movie* except without Steven Seagal and with a subplot against people trade.
(* The typical Steven Seagal movie can be summarized as follows:
Steven Seagal, an ex marine slash ninja slash martial artist slash cook, gets his daughter slash wife slash cousin murdered slash kidnapped, and takes revenge by killing / incapacitating several handfuls of nameless baddies with various methods. The choice of killing or incapacitating depends on the rating of the movie.)
