Digimon: The Movie.

I only watched up until the end of the Our War Game segment, because I think the first season of Digimon Adventure was better than the second one (partly because they were stuck in the Digital World). Also, I was only really watching it to hear "One Week". :P

"It's about the egg. THE EGG HAS ALREADY HATCHED."

I FINALLY saw this film after too much time of wanting to. I love the blend of sci-fi, drama, romance and comedy in this. The psychological aspect of Bruce Willis' character trying to convince the psychiatrist of him being a time-traveler and the doctor hammering the fact that he is just delusional into his head was very good as well. Terry Gilliam is a fantastic director, imho, which explains my fascination and adoration for Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus as well. Gilliam's quirky humor throw into this science fiction keeps the film down to earth, too. Brad Pitt's performance was also great, hilarity occurred nearly everytime he was on the screen.

Great film. You need to see Brazil as well.

I need to see this, Purely for the fact that it will be driven by Jensen Ackles' voice.

Except it wasn't. It was made awesome by EVERYONE's acting.

Also, Green Lantern First Flight is one of the most mediocre of DC's animated film line. Also does the least amount of justice to the source material.

so I finally saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A bit overrated by hipsters but it's still a superb film, as I expected from Charlie Kaufman.

The Green Zone.

Like I really needed a reminder that our government needs a complete overhaul.

The way that people reacted to this film doesn't help. I swear, the amount of people who would rather bitch and moan that the government is constantly being victimized, versus those who would rather dissect events and try and find some measure of truth is ridiculous.

Solomon Kane

"If I kill you, I am bound for hell. It is a price I shall gladly pay."

A period swashbuckler, interspersed with supernatural evil. Set in the dying days of the Tudor period (literally - Elizabeth I died in 1602; apart from the opener and some flashbacks, the film takes place in 1601), the titular character wears the badass puritan (something of an oxymoron...) costume associated with Guy Fawkes (a la, V for Vendetta).

All in all, the film is good fun, as long as you don't expect anything genre-defining. One of the notable "twists" in the last half-hour of the film is quite easy to guess in the first half-hour. Namely, that
the Masked Antagonist is actually Solomon's believed dead brother, Marcus - and if you're reading this spoiler without having seen the film, I'll give you a clue as to why Marcus is believed dead: look at the family name
.

The creatures of themselves weren't anything special, but I did enjoy seeing a true flaming sword (within the first ten minutes, too). Too often when flaming swords are used in fantasy, it's a sword billowing flame. In Solomon Kane, it's a flame it the shape of a sword's blade. =D

Only two minor complaints: one, Jason Flemyng was underused as
Malachi
; two, the film climaxes in the southwest of England, near the border of Somerset and (as one character calls it) "Devonshire". The county is called Devon, got it? Devonshire is used to describe things related to Devon (the people of Devon are called Devonian).

Inception and it was way better than expected. And I watched New Moon (unfortunately) and it is the only I've seen out of the series but I second that the Twilight Saga is horse shit.

There Will Be Blood

Fantastic movie, absolute 10/10, so long as you can put up with its almost aggressively slow pace. I'd heard that many people were bewildered by the apparent absence of a plot from this moive, but thats not really the case. The whole film pretty much exists as a vehicle to showcase Daniel Day Lewis' amazing acting (and there's no question that in this film he gives an absolute powerhouse performance). The result of pretty much dispensing with a conventional plot to focus solely on a single well-written and well-acted character is a dark and personal study of the life, personality and achievements of Lewis's Daniel Plainview, thats as fascinating to behold as it is compelling to watch.

Definitely worth checking this out.
