Now, again, I love XIII - but not for the reasons that it seems Square Enix is thinking - or at least are touting in their public relations speeches.

I would like to think of XIII as the alternate. I would like to think of something in the Type-0/Agito universe as alternate as well.

Gods damn it! Why the hell did they just use the fal'Cie like some plot device. That's SERAH people!!!

I want a game from the point of view of the fal'Cie and screw anyone who has a damn problem with it, because it would be epic!

Yeah, Type-0 does look interesting and I've not spoiled anything for myself yet in the hopes they'll release it eventually (HD release plz). Just the concept of the FNC itself was not really what I hoped it would be.

I think Square-Enix themselves initially had bigger plans for it too. Then again, it would've probably resulted in even more format-spread (buy the novels! and the movie! and the GameboyColor games!).

... There is so much I wish to say about their habit of doing this. Just make a gods damned LONG game that's good and charge $100 for it.

As for the FNC. Again, I want them to publish the original Nojima story (five pages, if I recall correctly.) I remember an interview that said that the original story goes into the feelings of the gods. We need this story. It should (and I am really hoping on this) clarify everything.

I think that everyone is a false savior.

There was never to be a 'real' savior because something is meant to happen via Bhunivelze. I speak of the one platinum award I pointed out just a few weeks ago; it hinted quite directly that Lightining will fight Bhunivelze - unless they make that a paradox-type of ending.

Anyhow, point being is that my feelings are that Lightning becomes the savior by working for humanity's future.

Honestly, if they were going to use Biblical references to the End of the World, they would've done so by now (and they really haven't done that much even in the other FFXIII games)...this is closer to Norse Mythology's definition of the End Times (Ragnarok) rather than anything based on the book of Revelation.

I'd suggest reading more about the Norse Gods and how they interact in Ragnarok and what happens, etc.

The irreconcilable focuses part refers to his job of having to maintain Cocoon but also wanting to destroy Cocoon in order to reunite with Lindzei.

The "strange" aspect of it is that I don't believe slaughtering humans was a "Focus", but rather a "desire".

But what bothers me now is... Are we going based on FFXIII's timeline or FFXIII-2's timeline (where Lightning didn't exist for most of history and nobody killed Barthandeleus, or at least we don't know for sure).

Lightning will encounter Oerba Yun Fang in the Dead Dunes, one of four regions in Nova Chrysalia choked with ruins amongst a blistering desert. You may remember that Fang fell into crystal stasis at the end of Final Fantasy XIII, but it appears she has recently awoken along with Vanille who now resides in Luxerion. Both Fang and Vanille were taken in by the Order, but unknown circumstances drove Fang to leave for the dunes to search for a long-lost relic — eventually becoming the leader of the bandit gang Monoculus. Fang will battle alongside Lightning as she plumbs the depths of various ruins seen in the new batch of screenshots below.
