SPOILERS LTD Remake — It's like New Coke except ... no, it's exactly like New Coke

With that picture, you reminded me of something. At the beginning of the game, when Tifa and Cloud are on screen together, there is a HUGE gap between them. You can drive a semi-truck through it. However, as the game continues on it seems the space slowly shrinks down to a point where there really isn't anything in between them. Symbolic?

Ooooh. That's a good point. I guess you could say that there's a physical arc between the two too.

There was a funny Tumblr that said that the FFVII Remake just exists as an excuse so Cloud and Tifa can touch each other.

My interpretation of all these things is that physically, it can be seen as a preparation for the Highwind scene.

Like for someone like Cloud to have sex, he needs to be really comfortable with them not just emotionally but physically.

He's comfortable with Tifa . He's comfortable with touching Tifa and with her touching him.

They touch each other more and more as the story progresses from here:

I'm not even including all the soft touches that Tifa does on Cloud at random points like at Don Corneo's hideout when they talk to Leslie.

Cloud does get annoyed at Sam's suggestion he is ditching Aerith for some Wall Market fun though and he does warn her about Johnny :)
I do think that Clouds reaction to Tifa seem to be somewhat more "possessive" compared to Aerith. Just compare the scenes of Aerith telling Cloud that she had a boyfriend in the past, to Cloud hearing from Barret about even the possibility of someone trying to put a move on tifa. They even cut out his line from the og where he asks "We're you...serious?" which could be interpreted of him feeling uncomfortable with the idea that Aerith already had a bf in the past.

It absolutely does. The train graveyard chapter is not about an individual romantic character development at all. The group was trying to get through to Sector 7 as fast as possible to try and save everyone there. The atmosphere that was set was spooky and uneasy feelings. Especially after Tifa told everyone the story at the beginning.

The scene in question absolutely contradicts that assertion, even if you disregard any potential jealousy that could have been exchanged. They wasted a lot of time gawking and reacting to the environment.

And why isn't this also the case in the sewers when Tifa most definitely displayed jealousy at the very beginning?

I am sorry. What are we talking about again? I think we agree.

Weed, probably.
That would explain why we can't remember anything :wackymonster:

Anyway I disagree with an assertion a few pages back that jealousy is necessarily “part of a healthy relationship”; in fact I would contend that it is 100% not a healthy emotion to feel, and in general, it can be a sign of possessiveness or insecurity. Not going to get into a long debate on this, because I don’t really have time, but I literally don’t even comprehend the mindset that leads to possessiveness in a relationship; in fact, I probably would only be upset at a partner being involved with someone else if they deceived me about it, or were irresponsible about how they went about it, or broke the terms of whatever arrangement we’d set in some other fashion – and I’d be upset about the deception, irresponsibility, or violation of trust, rather than the involvement with other people in and of itself.

As to how jealousy affects the LTD in the new game, don’t know, haven’t been able to play it yet :wackymonster:

why do you think

Japan.

I wonder how the Devs are going to portray that particular scene in the later parts of the game. Do you think they will censor that part?

Edited to spell check. "Sensor" what the hell....

I prefer not to think about that, tbh. I can easily ignore that part in the OG because I can always make the excuse they look like funny looking polygons. But with the Remake's graphics... I'd rather not go there. I'd hate for anyone to hit Aerith's pretty face.

Cloud will probably just choke her.

I agree. I am not sure why it was there in the first place. Not sure what they were trying to convey in the OG with that.

Cat on Mars

Actually not a cat
Why do they have to approach that scene from that angle?
The gift of the Goddess, duh.

That's... not a better choice.

To show why Cloud can't be close to Aerith and can't be trusted with her protection, so she leaves alone and dies. :monster:
