Oh, we're not talking about ME romance anymore?

I was going to talk about how much I hate Liara and how she belongs in a gutter on Omega somewhere.

... just kidding maybe.

TBH, the only male-romance option I like was Miranda. But that's because I like Tali/Kal Reeager, Ashley is canonicly dead in my head, and Liara is Liara.

I hate Liara and I'm totally not kidding.

But then again, I'm the sole Ashley fan on the forum, so take my existence with a grain of sugar.

The playable humans do get kinda shit on in this fandom, don't they?

Except for maybe Kasumi, but I get the impression that a large chunk of the fandom didn't actually get to play her because not everyone gets dlc.

After I played ME2 and went through ME1 knowing

either Ashley or Kaiden were goners

I assumed they were going to be great characters and I'd be really upset choosing...

And this ended up happening. I was upset I couldn't choose both.

I kinda feel that the only way you can be invested in either character is if you are romancing either of them. I never cared for either of them, but when I did the romance with Kaidan, I liked him a lot more. I never got around to Ashley (tbh, I never loved ME1 gameplay). And fuck if I ever wanted to try Liara.

But in the end, I was more upset that Grunt was angry at me than Ashley (or Kaidan dying).

Also, most of that affection died during the Horizon mission. I never wanted to fucking punch a fictional character so hard.

You know, I didn't actually get the lesbian vibe from Fang and Vanille most of the game. I thought it was mostly family+culture shock for a lot of these characters, and just a touch of les-yay.

I didn't either. It felt like more of a sisterly thing. Then Vanille put her hand on Fang's boob, and I was all "oic"


And ME does not interest me. Especially not by these conversations.

Trust me, I wasn't into Western RPGs either until I got my hands on ME2. I liked ME1 well enough, but ME2 tops my favorite games of all time. Def. best game of the year imo. Completely uninformed opinion because I haven't played most of the games this year

I played ME1 briefly and it didn't hold my attention at all. But if ME2 really is as better as everyone says, I might pick up the PS3 version to do that comic thing for the ME1 story.

I'm not sure any of the other romances in ME can really be considered canon, other than Liara.

I mean, her's was the only one to get a DLC which culminated in really continuing the romance on from the first game. If and when a DLC with Ashley in it gets brought out, I suspect the focus will be elsewhere.

I will say that I don't like how I have to worry about ammo now, and can't upgrade mah weapons with, like...stuff. (idk what, since some of it was turned to powers, but still!)

Ammo is almost everywhere. I only had to switch guns on my insanity playthrough. And the upgrading in ME1 felt unfocused to me.

But I liked that it was so customizable - armor and grenade upgrades and all that.

I just wish omni-tools and amps had upgrades ;.;

I didn't have an import from ME1 (I didn't finish it till the end because someone was borrowing it).

You get sooo much more with the import. Even if you don't love ME1, suffer through the terrible inventory system and the fucking Mako, and port your character to ME2 for great justice.

It really is awesome.

Seriously, Liara may not be ~ALL THAT~ if you take the first game alone, but her development throughout the games, comics, and finally the DLC make her one of the most well developed characters and makes her romance arc so rewarding. LOTS OF LITTLE BLUE CHILDREN ;O;

Also I could care less about Kaiden or Ashley coming back. WREX AS RETURNING SQUADDIE IN ME3
