Anyone wonder why there are so many abusive father figures in this series? I mean, seriously
Tali, Miranda, Jacob, Wrex, James Vega. Garrus is estranged from his dad, though he is willing to listen to them about the Reapers. Thane was a neglectful Dad. The only Dads that have a halfway good rep are Ashley's (dead) Dad and Kaidan's, the only thing we know about him is that he went MIA fighting Reapers.

I doubt that anyone is interested, but I'm doing a let's play for ME2. First two episodes are already uploaded (the second one is nightmare length, sigh), and I'm going to do some more recording today.

True story: I've played every ME game with every gender/romance combination possible (including Broshep/Cortez, because a lot of people leave that one out - which is sad because it's GOOD... but OMG WE DONT WANT TO BE TEH GHEY *ugh*) and over the whole series there is nothing more touching and more fit to the story (to me anyway) than Femshep/Liara.

Liara's transformation over the course of the series is nothing short of awesome, and ... well, she makes the best character in the long run.

As to why I say Femshep/Liara, at least part of that is due to the fact that Jennifer Hale is just a better VA than Mark Meer. It's not his fault, he's not bad - it's just that she's a long-standing video game voice actor with tons more experience, and nails ever single scene perfectly.

But seriously, if you haven't played ME3 with the Broshep/Cortez romance, DO THAT. It's actually written very well and it has a slight impact on the endgame. It's pretty great.

You forgot Liara. If you see Cerberus as their daddies then Jack and EDI would count too, then there's Samara who has issues with her daughters. Ashley's this odd case compare to the rest of the group who neither has parental issues or a traumatic event in her past.

Megatron - You've done every romance? Even Jacob's? Because that's some level of torture no one should ever be subjected to.

I have a stockpile of Mass Effect gifs that are perfect all in their own ways. Finding the time to deploy them is the real key to utilizing them.

Liaras Mom was under mind control and is also the only person able to resist it without a full blast of Shepard-charisma. As for her Dad, she's just absent for the most part, the type to show up on her 107th birthday, drop off a giftwrapped squad of elite commandoes and disappear again. (I'm now picturing them jumping out of cakes)

On romances, I tried FShep/Kaidan, but failed, tried to romance Garrus in 2, failed, and went back to Kaidan in 3 even though I didn't really want to any more, because I liked him in the first game.

From memory, her children at the temple in ME3 call her 'mother', so I guess she was the one who popped them out
