I will be entirely okay with that if it is the case. Use the remaining ten chapters to resolve the immediate present, then move time forward and resolve everything else in the movie.

Well, we did always know that the last fight of the series would be Sasuke and Naruto. It was just a question of how drawn out it's going to be, and how serious the fight will be (pretty serious, it seems).

I'm way curious how this is gonna spin things, and I'm glad that the other shoe dropped RIGHT as soon as everything else wrapped up. I think it's surprisingly fortuitous that the new game coming out is called "Ultimate Ninja Storm: Revolution" (despite not going as far as these events). Additionally, now we'll be finding out why…
Naruto's right arm is completely bandaged in "The Last: Naruto The Movie." I think it'll have something to do with the enhanced Rasengan injuring his arm.
I'm also wondering how they'll awaken everyone, since both parts of the power are needed to break the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Either way, skipping a week is gonna make killer anticipation.

Soooo... Sasuke & Kakashi are still both around in The Last: Naruto The Movie, Kakashi with no Sharingan, and Sasuke with the Rinnegan still. What the hell this means for the current events in the series, I haven't the faintest fucking clue, but HOLY SHIT they look rad as hell.

I'm REALLY digging the overarching message that the Sage focuses on, and I'm curious how it'll play out. I like Naruto's attitude when he leaves, "You know how I am. I'll be back."

Fuck this is exciting.

Yes, but there's still no way to predict how Naruto will make them hug it out.

Sasuke has pretty much annihilated every reason to make friends and would probably not even care if Naruto resurrected his parents on the spot.

Well, Naruto's stated that his terms are either - they both die or they both live, so as soon as The Last: Naruto The Movie was announced showing older Naruto, I kind of took it as a guarantee that they wouldn't kill each other during this finale, even if they didn't show Sasuke's design until recently.

sasuke is back. and that's all i really care about. moto's fave character is back in action and i FINALLY have an interest in naruto after what, 5+yrs? there was a huge hubbub about it so i just had to check out this chapter.

FINALLY. how many fans of sasuke, or just naruto in general wanted for sasuke to lay out all the cards on the table? to completely blanket those three dopes with the truth?

look at sakura - sasuke has been nearly all to blame for ruining everyone's lives. did he cause oibito or madara and all the jazz? of course not, but to the leave village is a definite. to kakashi, sakura, and naruto its a definite. he really has given all this physical and emotional pain to EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY sakura, since she's in the most painful kind of feelings of all time - romantic love. if sasuke was to really break down and say "Oh I'm so sorry Sakura please forgive me" and she accepted, what kind of person would she then be?
a girl that will take whatever she wants, no matter the quality. even if sakura still loves him or whatever he simply doesnt deserve her loyalty. he's too dirty, too filthy to come "back" (when he never belonged to her in the first place, he never belonged to anyone) to her. also, what would that make sasuke? a man that would take a beaten up old thing pain that HE had caused for the longest time, then pick it up and care for it again? that makes him pathetic.
and its not like its not the same for the other two. even if sasuke wanted to come back he simply doesnt deserve them. he's done way to much. WAY too much. MUCH too much. for too dang long.

everything these three believed about sasuke was an utter lie. literally, from the point you met him to the point of now, he has wanted nothing to do with you. you keep using the words "back in the days" and "come back". sasuke never belonged to the village. he always had evil, darkness, and power on his mind. there was never a point in his life when he thought about others only. he only used others (including you three) to come to his own goal. the ONLY reason why he stayed in the village was to gain power. and when he finished all the easy peasy stuff and wanted more, but all he saw was the entire were acting like bovines and not giving him anymore power. then along comes orochimaru, who in my opinion, had the hugest impact on sasuke's path to darkness than any other person. the orochimaru arc was possibly sasuke's darkest point. he had sacrificed his own body just for revenge. he took what orochimaru's men (and woman) told him to without second thoughts, and that was AFTER they told him what would happen. that's why i love the mark a lot more than the switching to the eye. that mark symbolized just how much he was willing to run openarmed and vulnerably into darkness. he didnt care if the mark ate away his body alive.

sasuke never liked you guys. he purposefully set himself up in a bonding relationship and then cut it in half so he could prove to himself that he could screw people over that he once had times with. and since he saw a huge opening in naruto's vulerablilty of his heart, he attacked him the most, allowing himself to become best friends with the guy that was (sorry, is) the second most annoying person in his life. in other words, he manipulated the lot of you to, again, use it for higher power. and when you had nothing left to offer for him, he simply left to seek out more (orochimaru). it's as simple as that. i mean listen to this dude!

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan, and kill a certain someone."

now, albiet, he doesnt want to kill itachi anymore, but he still holds that darkness nonetheless. literally there was only point in sasuke's life when he saw light. it was before he left the village, when he thought for a while if he should cast aside revenge and just stay with the people he chose to bond with. so yes, there was a point when sasuke did have hope. but even then he cast it aside. his dead set desire for revenge was just too strong. it had taken hold of him for 5yrs by then.

(this is kind of the same for ciel in kuroshitsuji. he too had a chance to live a great life and even admitted he was tempted to, but he then said he wasn't on the earth to have fun and relax. he was here for on thing - revenge. and he was even younger than sasuke at that point.)

don't try that mess "you were trying to kill sasuke". we all know (including you) that you were still in love with him, for whatever reason why. and you still couldnt do it.

but thats enough of trying to understand sakura's "make believe fantasy of true love". sasuke, the only sane and interesting charcater (besides maybe gaara and lee) is back, thank pete, and i am definitely going to see what happens next.

I dunno if you just read this chapter and skipped everything else, but your analysis on how "evil, dark, and terrible" Sasuke is is almost hilariously off base. The series has gone to pretty great lengths to show that the pain and suffering that Sasuke suffers is directly related to how much he DOES care for people. Hell, the whole Uchiha clan itself is rooted in the fact that they emotionally feel love so much more strongly than others, but their power exponentially increases when they suffer loss, which is what drives them into darkness. For Sasuke, holding on to that connection and keeping it broken are the only path he knows to keep his strength and become the strongest in order to change the world and achieve his goals. The whole thematic arc in the series is finding a path for moving away from hatred/hurt being the driving force of change in the world.

Hell this panel alone from that very chapter pretty much shows that Sasuke keeps the memories of all his connections but just doesn't allow himself to feel them anymore. http://www.mangapanda.com/naruto/693/9

tl;dr - what you wrote makes it pretty clear that you haven't been following everything else in Naruto for the last 5 years.

Sasuke certainly cared about Naruto and Sakura in Part 1. As for all of this "always" and "never" business, there's no evidence that Sasuke had any evil in his heart until Itachi decided to corrupt him.

We finally get to see the other side of the coin, and it is SO well executed. This chapter was everything we've been waiting for to see what's going on with Sasuke's development ever since he's been free from someone else manipulating his hatred towards their own goals, and I fucking LOVE how it was done.

I think I'm gonna be in shock the entire time. I don't know how to react, even though I've seen this coming. Twelve years, man…

Also, somebody better get a version of The Last: Naruto the Movie online fuckin' QUICK once it comes out, or I'll probably die.
