Welp, this was my favourite moment from the Beta, and last night. We were doing the London defense. They had a Widowmaker on the roof keeping our support back, which was fine because it was Mercy & I buffing the bajeezus out of Bastion, while D.Va, Junkrat and our 76 held off the other folk up front.

There was only one point where we almost lost it because the front line folk were getting too aggressive and dying, so I tried to pull them back because my Ult was charged – but no one listened. With them all down, their 76 swept around with some others to take the point...

boo beta over. They'd still better make it f2p, I like it but just not enough to warrant full price. Maybe €20. They need to add moar maps and shit. I've also played most of the heroes so er, more of those too pls.

To hell with f2p. I ain't paying £8 every time I want to play a different hero (looking at you heroes of the storm).
I much prefer this way. Buy the game and get access to all the maps, characters and game types there is, and any that end up being released. I honestly couldn't be happier than Blizzard went with this model when it would have been sooooo easy to choose a f2p model and overcharge for anything they wanted.

I have a sneaking suspicion Lucio and Bastion will get the worst nerfs after this thing. The secondary attack can kill anyone instantly (effectively) (although getting the situation right is rather tricky), and Bastion has just gotten a lot of hate because people don't know how to get around him

I don't think so. They've already commented on Bastion, and while Lucio can be really brutal, it's VERY situational.

Oh man that was good. Actually got chills at the use of both their ultimate abilities.

I really do hope that we get ~8 more and get to see something with everyone. Also- I love that in the shot of the Moon, you can see all the big circular patterns where Winston was on the base. They've done such a great job with the worldbuilding and making each character feel like a lot more than just their archetype. They also did really well with making these two's actions towards each other a bit more morally ambiguous and complex than just good guy and bad guy like the previous two.

That said, "Alive" still totally wrecks my little heart. The fact that in-game in the starting area, Tracer will talk to Zenyatta about it and he'll comment how much he misses his brother just adds to it even more. I expect I'll start to notice more things like that once the game is actually out, and I get to play more.

Well that's cool as hell!

That banter is also where I learned that Torbjörn is awkward/prejudiced about with working alongside Omnics – since he fought in the First Omnic Crisis, whenever he says something to Zenyatta, it's always a bit of a backhanded compliment, "That was a really good shot! ...er... for a robot."

Dialogue was a bit narmy imo and the whole narration thing didn't feel as smooth as I thought it could be, but it was still a decent animated short!

Kind of preferred the tone of 'Alive'
