It's funny, yeah, but she really did want him to come over. If you talk to her a couple times in the 7th Heaven before heading out to Reactor 5 the next day (assuming you've accepted her invitation), she reminds Cloud about his dinner date with her, telling him to hurry back so the pizza she makes for him won't get cold.

Incidentally, this shows that Jessie did see the flower. But strangely, she never says anything to Cloud about it even though it's prime flirting material. Still not sure why she kept quiet about it.

Just had a thought about Jessie's glove. Maybe the reason there's only one there is that it's meant to be a message to Biggs not only about her survival, but that he'll see her again. If she has the other one, then maybe it's as a reminder to her to go back to him (and possibly Wedge) someday. The gloves could be a symbol of their friendship, each of them having one and knowing that someday both they and the gloves will be reunited.

Wow that's actually a pretty interesting take on that. Very nice! Definitely less dour than what I had in mind.
Was thinking maybe she lost an arm in the skirmish.

Thanks! This assumes, of course, that Jessie's alive and was able to avoid her fatal injuries thanks to the Whispers being defeated (since they were around her when she threw the grenade) - with them gone, she'd have been able to get away from the blast in time and avoid getting buried. This also assumes that she left Midgar, which given her connections and history with the Gold Saucer and Avalanche command, isn't unreasonable to conclude. If she did, she'll undoubtedly meet up with Cloud and the others in Kalm or somewhere else along the way.

This is giving me the sad mental image of Jessie sitting home alone, not sure if Cloud is alive, eating cold pizza. :(
If ever I feel like doing depressing Jessie art, there's an idea.

Well, hopefully they'll finally be able to have that pizza together in Part 2 if/when she comes back. It could even be part of her Gold Saucer date, if we're lucky.

That'd be really nice! Then while riding the ferris wheel, she'll fall out of the cart and plummet to her death!

Another thing I like about Jessie is that she's one of the rare redheads in the FF scene. Most FF girls (from 7 onward, anyway) are your typical blond or brunette. Same thing over and over - Tifa, Aerith, Quistis, Selphie, Ellone, Rinoa (though she leans more toward black, which does make her stand out a bit more), Garnet, Yuna, Rikku, Ashe, Penelo, and Lunafreya, among others. Jessie's a nice and refreshing change from all that. There's brown in her hair, sure, but it's lighter than most other girls' and it has a slight red tint to it that's seen more readily in some places than others depending on the lighting. But it's there, and it's a nice touch.

her design is all-around S tier. and what's funny is that it's just slightly modernised from 1997. it's so kick-ass. and her little calf pants, what are they, khakis? they're so cute and sexy for some reason!
jessie brought in nearly 1 million views on the bike kiss as well (as the alternate scenes) in just a week! safe to say that she's a hit, perhaps she'll officially reach a million by next week.

I'm telling you, she has a main character level design. More so than even Tifa, I swear! I realized this back when I first drew her in like 2013, so seeing people come around now is kind of cathartic. Her design is really good!

Well, with the foundation they've established with her backstory, last name, connections to the world outside Midgar (including the Gold Saucer date), skyrocketing popularity, and a hint of her possible survival, I don't think it's unreasonable to think she might get a promotion to playable character in Part 2 to really capitalize on the momentum she's gotten. I hope so, anyway.
And colorwise, Jessie really stands out more than Aerith and Tifa - she's just so vibrant and there in every scene she's in.

Just had another thought about Jessie's possible survival and her role in Part 2. With her technical expertise, I can easily see her helping out on the Highwind once you get it. She might even be the one you talk to whenever you want to go somewhere (instead of a generic crewman). That would certainly open up all kinds of flirting opportunities for her and Cloud, because you know she wouldn't be able resist giving him some clever lines whenever he wants to fly.

Even with the hope that the ending gives us that she's alive, it's still hard to watch.
