I'm down under ten Pokémon I'm lacking now.

• Regional:
- Farfech'd
- Kangaskhan
- Heracross.

• Gen1
- Dragonite (lazying getting a few more candies, because I'm buffing my Snorlax as my buddy, but I have 111 but would rather evolve a Dratini than a Dragonair).

• Gen2
- Feraligatr (just gotta hit up a Totodile nest again).
- Unown (never seen one. No idea where to start).
- Giraffarig (there are nests but I haven't hit one up yet).
- Kingdra (Horsea, like most water Pokémon is pretty uncommon around here and the nests are small, but it's a slow WIP since I have a billion Dragon Scales).
- Porygon 2 (Only have one Porygon, and haven't gotten to buddying or candy farming for it yet, but I have a billion Upgrades).

When it's not so fucking ungodly hot outside we might get around to doing raids and stuff, but I've probably only done about 4-5 so far.

That article says something about a hundred different raids happening all the time in urban areas but how many raids are people actually taking part in? You only get one free entry a day after all and even if you’ve got a good team with you, like Channy said it’s still not guaranteed that you’ll get a decent pokemon out of it.

I’ve never managed to get much walking done, despite that being such a huge part of the game So for me at least, this is a good way to finally get some more candy and evolve a lot more pokemon. There’s so many gaps in my pokedex still...

It's one raid pass, per gym, per day, and you can only hold one at a time. You can still do a TON of raids per day so long as you just get a new raid pass from a different gym every time you finish one. If I were to go downtown, I could probably raid as long as my items would last.

That's not right X. You only get one free raid pass per day from a spin (not counting the one you are currently holding) so walking, and the Buddy System, is still majorly important, so I have to dismiss most of that article's thoughts as well.

You can do two raids in a row but if you had your pass from yesterday and not used it until the next day, then spin a new gym you'd get today's pass.

My only concern is the amount of people needed to do a Legendary Raid. And I'm in a City. I hate to even think about Rurals having to scrape a large enough team together.

It'll be interesting to see how difficult they are. I know that the suggested group sizes for Raids are set for lower levels. My missus and I can pretty easily manage two star raids on our own, and those have a suggested size of like... 5-9 for some of them. I bet that getting a capable squad together won't be so bad.

Yeah it all depends on where you're at I suppose. I'm 400K from lv 38 but stopped maxing out some of my Pokes because of how the new gym system works... but I can do lv 2's on my own and came soooo close to a lv 3 Machamp the other day on my own too, I was just in a shit spot of town that I kept losing service.

Speaking as a rural player it's gonna be tough... the video aludes to "invite" so maybe people will know about it more? It also looked like a 2-day timer count down, giving you time to organize how you can get there and what you need to do (ie take an early lunch at work or something).... My town is pretty small, we have 12 gyms now since the rework and more players have been coming out because of the change, but we started a fb messenger group for locals and there's about 10 active of us. At least 7-8 have gotten together a few times for the lv 4 raids.. a good handful of them are lv 30-33's and the other half are upper lv 20's. We've already discussed how we're going to make this work because we ain't missing it!!

It seems like the Go Fest will get the first legendary tomorrow after the 3 hr-long slots of catching Pokes.. if they're successful then it opens up to us the next day, so first legendary is sometime sunday.

Hatched a 10k Dratini, and because the event is active, I got 57 candies from it. I now finally have a Dragonite (with Dragon Tail & Hurricane, & straight 14 IVs), and 51 candies left over to upgrade it to level 28, with 2841 CP.

Planning on trying out for some raids this upcoming weekend with a group of friends if we can reliably coordinate and the weather isn't unbearable.

I tried fighting Lugia this morning. The only way to take that down is to have a huge group. I dont think thats gonna happen here.

I am absolutely fucking gutted right now.

• Showed up to a Lugia Raid at a Gym by our work with 2 other people hoping to catch a group – only to find out that we got there JUST too late to join a group of 15 people who ended up beating it.

• On top of that this is the Gym that I've had a Pokémon on since 6/22/2017 – 1:54 PM which is when the Gyms first became available again, so I missed out on some awesome XP and XP for that Gym.

• The Pokémon I had on there was my 3200 CP Tyrannitar.
Who was basically dropped to 640 CP every morning.
Every day.
For over a month.
AND it was in the first slot making it the most volatile Pokémon on the whole gym.

• A bug popped up about a week ago that – while on the Gym Badge, it was tracking the time accurately, looking at the Pokemon on the Gym all showed slowly reducing Negative numbers.

• I just got kicked off of that Gym at 7/24/2017 – 11:33 AM.
That's 32 days and change, ALMOST 33.

• BECAUSE OF THAT BUG I NOW HAVE ZERO HOURS AND ZERO MINUTES REGISTERED ON THE GYM BADGE, WHICH CALCULATES TO 47,379 GYM XP – Gym Gold Badges require a massive 30,000 XP, and I still have a Copper Badge for this Gym now from the 168 berries and two Raids that I completed on it.

So fucking gutted. I responded to my support ticket again (which still has no response), but given the fact that the shitstorm event of the Chicago Event happened, I basically have a snowball's chance in hell of anyone ever seeing it.

Pretty much all of my motivation for this game just got murdered.

So much hard work. Totally fucked.

Ahhhhh so sorry to hear that X. That sucks major balls. >_<

I'm halfway through lv 38 right now - I've done about 6 lucky egg evo sprees during this event so far and might break the 2mil mark before it's done. Then it'll make getting to 39 a little easier and then.. the long haul.

Our raid group has been quite successful in an odd way. A lot of these raids are showing up in the mornings when we have to work. Some are flexible to take morning breaks like myself, but some can't.. so the couple that hasn't been working runs and grabs people's phones from work and we meet at the gym. Pretty much everytime we've had a couple people using 2 phones/accounts to do these raids, simply because the bodies can't make it. It makes it funner though, in a weird way.

So far we've done 6 Articuno Raids (caught 3) and 2 Lugia (caught 1). Super stoked for the rest of the bird schedule.. maybe Lugia will overlap with Moltres for half the time and then Ho-Oh for the second half and for Zapdos.

Well, having watched GoFest, and the instant updates and remarks on Silph Road, from start to finish, to say that this was an utter disaster is a gross understatement. It felt that Niantic undid MONTHS of goodwill and communication in order to deliver such an ill conceived and planned out event.

Massive queues, with paid ticket holders still waiting to get in HOURS after the event officially started, no one able to get into Pokemon Go, the game constantly crashing, the completely unclear 'goals' and what people were supposed to do, the inconsistent graphics onscreen, the terrible lifestream - Ha! I meant livestream - (which jumped from showing nothing to people unable to play the game! Or even one person spoofing lol!), broken video links, the John Hanke booing, bottles being thrown on stage, 'We can't play!' ... I mean, seriously, what a disaster.

There's currently some interesting back and forth being shown in some media outlets. Niantic are saying their servers were only partly to blame, because after they (eventually) fixed the issues, some of the networks just didn't deliver on their promised capacity boosts, whereas Verizon are stating that this is nonsense, since their network users were able to go on Youtube and other internet resources, so it was clearly a Pokemon Go issue. Apparently, despite everyone thinking otherwise, there was also some COWS (mobile wireless towers) deployed for some networks. Though no-one really saw or got any benefit from those.

Lots of lies being thrown around. There's tons of blames for both sides.

In any case, Niantic has a lot of ground to make up and recover from this. The extended bonuses have been nice, but the way that these Legendary Raids are facilitated is just not conducive for organised groups, but it's just too late to make the necessary changes to the Raid system to something more akin to the trailers. Hopefully it is something that they will do in the future.

I also think it's a downright nasty move from Niantic to even hint or insinuate that the Legendaries will be cycled out (with no hints or anything of when, or even if, they WILL be back). Niantic clawing to get back the refunds and money from the event? Sure as heck looks like it, especially if Silph Road is any indication with people scrambling to try and get Articuno before he leaves.

I was tempted to go to the Safari Zone events in Europe in order to get the rumoured regionals that will be showing up there, but seriously considering against that now.

A lot of goodwill to fix ... they need a win and fast.

Went out with my gf & boss and met up with a 17 other folks from another building and did an Articuno Raid at the same Gym from last week. All 3 of us caught it! It was a nice improvement from Monday, and honestly makes Pokémon GO FEEL the way that it did back when it was really big when it first launched. Super happy about it.

Also, is Lugia still spawning in places or did that end with the event? I haven't been out much this week, so I wasn't sure how that was working.

Lugia still spawned today for us but we couldn't get the numbers for it. Is anyone else experiencing weird raid times? As far as I knew, before raids went from 9-9.. meaning one wouldn't show up earlier or later than 7 both ends... the last 4 days since the legendary raids came into effect and they took off the egg meter part of it, our raids have been SUPER early. Talking, I get to work at 7am and there's one that's ending with 20mins left on it, so they're starting now at 5am. Which is INSANE.

..... we still got 7 people together for a 7am Articuno raid today though.

I am so glad that I hadn't booked anything yet after what happened at GoFest. This doesn't come as a surprise after what happened, and the fact that any actual info pertaining to the event had been held back, despite the first one supposedly starting next week!

But seriously, it sucks if you booked anything beforehand. Why did they wait till now to acknowledge / confront this?

Still a lot of unclear communications all round. Ok, so you might pump out some Regionals as a goodwill gesture. What European cities will now see these regionals appearing? Which regionals will appear? Some? All? And heck, when will these be appearing?


To lighten the tone (as I still love the game and don't want to post nothing but doom and gloom) I saw a Miltank pop up the other day and couldn't wipe the grin off my face all day.

Got Articuno & Lugia on my first Raids. Even got Lugia on my first throw. Did 3 more raids for Lugia and won them all, caught one more, so I'm still on track to complete my Pokédex.

Additionally, I saw a Kangaskhan during one of the battles so it's shadowed in my Dex now. I got enough candies from two Horsea to evolve a Kingdra & fed a Flaafy enough Rare Candy to get my Amphoros – meaning that Feraligator, Porygon 2, Girafarig, & Unown are my last Johto Pokémon I'm actively going after.

Swapped my one Porygon to my buddy (40 candies away), and probably gonna hit up Tododile nests, and try to find a Girafarig one that's legit between hunting for Moltres raids this week, though depending on the number of Rare Candies that the raids end up getting me, those may come through sooner rather than later.

TBQH, IDGAF about catching Unown as that'll likely just happen when it happens if it does since there's literally ZERO rhyme or reason to when or where they appear. Likewise, I'm holding off on Farfech'd, Kangaskhan, & Heracross until Safari zones or something happen around here.

Exclusive Raids looks like they'll require some levels of coordinating, so it's likely that Slack & Facebook groups will be helpful. (Crazy that Pokémon GO Still doesn't have its own chat feature for this stuff like Ingress does).
