Stock-less as in no stock. Stock is whatever the main subject of the tag is, like a person, an animal, an object, or any photographs or drawings other than those used as abstract elements.

I still don't think too many people would be up for that. Avatars are just really basic and don't really require much effort. I personally don't think they adequately demonstrate one's ability in graphic design, whether it be 1 avatar or 100 avatars.
Ah, you definitely have a point there. :)

Anyone thoughts on manipulations or colorizations?

But yeah, I get it now. Thanks. XD

Lol, with some of the girly men in manga and video games nowadays, you can never tell. :monster: And np.

Oh, and text is allowed.

What exactly do you mean by that? There's something like photography manipulation, which is stuff like:

(And which I think is really, really cool and might do someday).

The thing is, there are reasons why tags are chosen here as the medium of competition. These reasons are, like I said, the optimal size and time. Anyone could make them, whether they usually focus on avatars or large pieces; tags are like a happy balance for everybody. Competitions with other things unfortunately lower the number of people wanting, or able to participate.

And it is unfortunate, I think, because large graphics pieces are much more legitimate. While tags are considered "graphics", they are still quite small and to the people who are serious about graphic design, they are probably like pretty stickers. Had there been more activity in this here graphics section, had we had some more people here who were serious about graphics (I admit that I'm not really), [and had we had the current people put in more effort to learn new things and improve], perhaps monthly large-piece competitions would be worth just considering. But currently there are just no resources for something like that.

Manipulations are the kind you posted above. Colorizations are basically coloring a picture, but like you said, there probably wouldn't be that many participating in those types of competitions.
Agreed with everything you said there :monster: Hopefully if we have more people participating in the tag competitions, there will be a possibility into considering a competition for those looking for something harder/those wanting to learn.

I think she should be disqualified for asking her friends to vote for her. We can see her checking out the thread right now and the votes are miraculously going up now that she's online. You don't go without a vote for a day then somehow jump into first place within a minute as you look into the thread.

He's just expressing [reasonable] frustration, which I must agree with if anything. I know Mr. Tangerine well enough to say that winning some online tag competition isn't really his concern; rather, the outcome of the poll is surprising to us, considering that her tag lacks many proper elements. That's not to say that she's horrible - everyone learns a bit at a time - but it's understandable that people with more experience would wonder why the outcome is the way it is. And we're allowed to wonder, as it's human nature, without being "butthurt".

I would have to say that when someone declares that another contestant should be disqualified for having votes over an online tag competition is butthurt. I doubt that anyone would take this so far to the point where they would ask their friends to vote, and especially someone like Celes Chere. I do agree that it's not as advanced as the other tags, but it certainly is appealing.

It's the fact that she only seems to get votes from her friends when she's in the thread checking the poll that bothers me, which is extremely suspicious to me; I couldn't care less if it was fair game. I pointed this out in my previous post if you had cared to read properly. I'd work on my level of understanding if I were in your shoes.

Let me start over: How do you know she's getting votes from her friends, when only three people have actually bothered to state that they voted for Celes Chere? I can't understand if you haven't actually proven your statement. Is it possible to look at who voted for her?

Very possible.

I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt and see how the votes turned out. Or more specifically, if it's possible, to have the time of when people voted, an' shit. :monster:

DNA, it's up to you since you're the Director. If you want to discuss this with staff, you know where to post.

I can only speak for myself, but I voted for Celes Chere's entry because I liked it the best. I don't know anything about the techniques people use when making the entries, so I vote for what I like the best.

I've read enough posts in these SotW voting threads to gather who is supposed to be the best at this stuff, and I happened to vote for those people's entries before in other competitions, but this time I voted for something different because it appealed to me more.

I don't even know Celes Chere, and I wouldn't vote for someone because they asked me to, which CC has not.

Legretta: You're actually the only person on the list of people who voted for her that isn't her friend and I checked this beforehand, so none of this was aimed at you.

Oh, okay.

So then, should everyone else who voted for Celes Chere this week be called in for questioning? :/

Hasn't CC entered one of the other week's competitions, though? Was there that problem that time?

edit: I checked and she got two votes last time, in SotW 4.

She did attempt to cheat once before by voting for herself, likely not knowing that we could see how everyone voted.

I'd also like to ask A why she voted for her if this is true:
I do agree that it's not as advanced as the other tags
Considering she also didn't know we could check how people voted until earlier today, I think this speaks for itself.

You can only vote for the most advanced tag? Then why doesn't only one entry have all the votes?

If you aren't allowed to vote for friends(even though I think that shouldn't be what decides what you vote for), then should anyone who voted for someone who's on their friends list have their vote deleted?

edit: I looked at the vote thread, and CC said that she meant to vote for FISH that time, but clicked the wrong one. That's possible, isn't it? They're right next to each other.
