fucking fuckstick fuck buttmunching
FUCK YOU SEGA
I just don't understand whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy this isn't multiplatform, what the hell are they getting out of Wii U exclusivity!? ARGH.
"For me, Sonic is about joyous movement,"
Is this going to have more supporting cast than the 4 characters?
Putting aside Metal Sonic's talk about becoming a "Robot Overlord", what I think Metal Sonic was trying accomplish throughout this whole game was to prove himself as more than just an inferior copy of Sonic.
To do this, he used all the abilities at his disposal to copy the data of Chaos, the Ultimate Life Form, etc, to make himself stronger than the original. Toward the end of the game he achieves all the power he could want and faces Sonic once and for all in the ultimate rematch of Super Powered Beings.
You could say Metal Sonic was fighting not only for supremacy, but to fulfill his reason for being, to defeat Sonic and find meaning in his own existence. This determination is spelled out well in his theme, "What I'm Made Of".
+ALEX HIRSCH No, Shadow has nothing to do with this fight and it has everything to do with Medulll. It's a song about someone who's had e-fucking-nough of being restrained or told to be something he isn't ripping everything apart and just showing everyone how far he can really he go without a cage or fear of reprisal.
I dare you to listen to this after reading the context of the lyrics and not wanting to rip a new asshole through everything.
Metal Sonic is the best character.
Mine is mostly because What I'm Made Of seems to talk about it. I think Metal does want to prove he's better because he gotten destroyed before and I can't imagine an overlord of machines being unaware of the fact he's a fake, and was force fed purpose.
"let me show you who I am and what I'm here for"
Curiosity wouldn't be taking control of him in the song if he didn't want to find something out. I don't think he's evil, I think he wants to destroy not just Sonic - but /everything/ ... And not because he's mean, because he's curious and wants to establish what he is. I would say this song could describe Sonic until it talked about Metal recognising a million faces simultaneously. I don't think Shadow or any biological creation has that kind of processing power, and at least very few have the cruelty needed to make them 'black marks on the floor.'
"You can take another night long try, you can take another try."
Metal confident in his abilities. A "come at me bro" @ Sonic. Willing to let him try again and again until Metal is tired of this shit and finishes it.
I think my conclusion is rational given how much of Shad's storyline and thoughts are conveyed through his musical themes and their lyrics. Metal Gear Rising did the same thing. It only makes sense What I'm Made Of would be a Metal Sonic song.
That witch (I thought Sonic was in the /wrong/ for killing her) in Black Knight had a similar song.
Sonic Boom will be a fun game, it's just animated terribly and the designs look bad. It's a shame because a lot of capable fanartists like the Shad I posted there seem to have a better idea of how it *could* look.
And yeah, I like Shadow a lot. It's interesting you see him as a handsome individual in human form, I see him as rugged and like Solid Snake. (hey, ultimate life form) Sonic lends itself to a lot of interpretation.
Let's see if they can stop making the games be subpar to decent and make him as amazing as he originally was one day, because Sonic is a cultural mascot everyone loves and we all enjoy it for different reasons. The sad thing is Sonic Boom seems to be one of those heartfelt and decent interpretations, it'll be ok quality and outsourced to a team with a lot of dev time ... And isn't that what a normal Sonic game deserves instead?
Sonic is more of a business model than entertainment now and it's sad.
I can definitely see why this would enrage you if you don't like the look of it, because normal Sonic should at least get equal attention.
Generations was decent at least. I might pick up Colors.
