No, not the Guado. Just Seymour
Most of the Guado's clothing looks at least somewhat in line with what the rest of Spira wear, and their hair looks like its almost styled into dreadlocks/gnarled tree roots, and thats a pretty cool look. I can get behind that. Seymour's clothing and hair styling doesn't really look like it follows the tradition of the other Guado. Granted, that might have been the point but it still makes him look like a prick.
It's a close run thing. But Seymour takes the biscuit.

No, I'm being perfectly serious. I never knew people thought Seymour's appearance was that odd or bizarre until I heard Spoony talk about it, and then all that's been said in this thread.
He just never struck me as that unusual. I always chalked it up to him being part Guado and highly eccentric.

Ah okay. No, I just always thought he looked bizarre. Even by the standards of the Guado.
I mean, I can understand why they wanted him to look different from other Guado. It's just I think the design direction they went down in order to achieve that makes him look too strange, even by Spira's incredibly low standard for strange outfits.

The character design in FFX is stupid. Period. It's like Spoony said about FFIX -- the game may have merit underneath its aesthetic, but fucktardism is fucktardism and if he (and I) want to have a laugh at every new character who appears wearing yet another idiotic costume, we can and should.

Really though, almost every FF game has a vocal hatedom.

No, actually FFX is not a hated game. At all. Going by its sales, reception, and the large scale fandom it has and has continued to maintain. It's probably in league with FFVII in terms of its praise and fans.
Yeah, every FF game has a vocal hatedom, but some are smaller than others. I haven't run into a large scale hater of FFX for awhile until I heard this Spoony fuck.

Yet until I actually looked for it, I never found a single person who thought the game was good at all. For years everyone I talked to panned it as possibly the worst FF to date.
FFX has a very prominent hatedom. If you haven't encountered it, fine. But my eight years of posting on video game forums and FF-specific forums tells me it definitely exists.
Spoony isn't the first one to talk about it. There's a reviewer who posts prominently on his forums who did a rant and review of how bad it was years before Spoony started this.
Then there's the Let's Play of it on SomethingAwful where posters were more than happy to join the morons playing it in talking about how terrible it is.
I used to think FFX was universallly beloved too but it most certainly is not.
As for VII's popularity....you're kidding, right? The Hype Backlash for that game is one of the fiercest forces on the internet. The Compilation has only served to fuel the flames of hatred many gamers have for it.
Honestly, the most beloved FF game nowadays is probably VI and even it is getting a lot of hatred for its fanboys.

Well at least half of FF7's hatedom hate it for the sole reason that it's the most popular, so you can almost immediately halve it.
And Mako's not saying the games don't have haters, but to say X isn't a beloved game is ridiculous. In Japan I think it even tops VII, at least according to Famitsu.

Actually, while Spoony's review of VIII is funnier, I don't think it's better. Namely because he GOT A FEW THINGS WRONG. lIKE THINKING Raine was Julia.
I don't blame him for that though. he absolutely did not want to finish VIIi and only did it from massive demand. So I gather he rushed through it as fast as he could.
The best part of that whole review though is his version of Selphie tinkering with the controls in the missile base.
"STOP YOU CRAZY BITCH! YOU'LL KILL US ALL!"
Which...actually is kinda true. Selphie's cute exterior belies the killer within.
Also, I just wanna say I've enjoyed every FF I've played. Even 2, which I would say is the absolute most hated game among the more dedicated fans who've played most of the series.

He labeled Raine as Julia during the FFVIII ending.... Laguna and Raine's moment there is positively beautiful and depressing and one of my favorite bits in the game.
So you can see why it would upset me more than mistaking one city for another when discussing a terrible minigame.
