Maybe it's the final chapter of the Compilation?
I just think it's weird that they would skip remakes for two ff games (V & VI) just for remake VII.
Up until now, they've been remaking their games in chronological order.
$5 says it wont be a remake.
I'd be disappointed if it was. From what I recall of a recent press conference (or whatever you call 'em), this new game wasn't going to be anything new though, which suggests it'll either be a remake or a continuation of a franchise/compilation. Lol, FFX-3.
Anything about an anticipated game or anything? That seems to be the text from that interview, although nothing that seems to match that quote.
Wherefore?I'd be disappointed if it was.
This pretty much always has been my argument. I posted this on another forum:I understand the arguments for a remake (to update it to all the retcons made in the compilation etc), but unless they dramatically change game play and do a whole bunch of other stuff different than the original, there is no point me buying it for upgraded graphics and a few tweaks to storyline alone. We didn't fall in love with FFVII for graphics after all =P. I can alway watch the new FMV cutscenes on youtube or something anyway.

I would rather they spend their time making an FFVII concluding sequel, or KHIII. That would at least show me that SE has a bit of creativity left in it. Sorry about the awful pessimism, but yeah.
Yeah, who needs for the Compilation to finally wrap itself up and conclude its story?
Just leave it on a cliffhanger for a decade. So then when it starts back up everyone will be too old to care and won't know what's going on.
Hey lots of great shows ended on a cliffhanger and were forever remembered because of it. Alf, Sonic the Hedgehog.... some others I don't know.
Yeah, cause that's the hallmark of good storytelling. Leaving your shit unresolved.
Also -- and it may be too easy of a point to make -- but remember that game, Final Fantasy VII?
Creativity dies when companies make things for money and/or fans, rather than taking risks and try to make new fans with something different...

Kingdom Hearts was goodgiven the fact that almost every single thing SE has released in the last 5 years has been limp dicked as fuck.
