Also I am surprised that no one has ever considered Tifa's feelings regarding the situation. If they can make Cloud hate Tifa, why can't they bring up the possibility that Tifa hates Cloud? New debate, albeit a stupid one considering how Tifa loves Cloud like the people here love looking through the CxA Forum.

Since it came up I'm kind of curious. I've heard things about how Square doesn't "solve" the love triangle because they're afraid of losing the other side's revenue (bare with me here)

But now I'm wondering, just for the sake of conversation, let's just say Clerith turned out to be canon. Would anyone here honestly stop buying SE stuff? I wouldn't.

I buy good products that are not stupid. Ergo, if Cloud is revealed to have had romantic feelings for Aerith in a manner that is consistent with his behavior and the plot, then that's fine. It is perfectly possible to love two people.

What actually supports the idea that SE won't "solve" the LT? As far as I'm concerned it's some half baked rationalization for moving the goalpost, i.e. we demand a specifically worded statement, and you'll never get it so we run and claim...

Hell, it took dumber to get me to stop buying SW books. I disliked it when SW authors kept pissing on character pairings (SRSLY, Jacen and Tenel Ka- needed to happen) but it took just plain character assasination (See also: latter half of the NJO or Karen Traviss) to make me stop reading.

The problem is, quite a lot of Clerith!Cloud ideas are not consistent, either with Cloud's overall behaviour, or internally. And no, Zee, LV, I do not mean to hate, but it is true.

Like I said to Quex, I've set out my thoughts on this elsewhere, but everything suggests the LT is ended. Killing Aerith alone is a major narrative indicator that they were ending the Love triangle antics. Everything else just showed where the decision had been made.

And LV, you say they don't care, but some of them very much do. Neither side should be painting with a broad brush, but just as we have our Vendels and Tanas, you have your Calis and such.
