Tifa fell in love with a Cloud she didn't really know. Aerith fell in love with a Cloud she didn't really know. It's a similar situation. Either admit neither Tifa nor Aerith had time to truly fall in love with the real Cloud before the end of the game, or they both did.

They definitely had the time. Like I said, if not for the whole Zack conflation thing, this wouldn't even be a blip on the radar. The Zack thing doesn't mean she doesn't love Cloud, it just means shit's complicated.

It just seems like people are going out of their way to say CxT, ZxA, the end. If Crisis Core was supposed to show us that Aerith was always truly in love with Zack, then there's no reason for them to reinforce her loving Cloud in the next entry.

If Aerith loved Cloud, what difference does it make? It's over! She's dead! Cloud's doing Tifa!

It doesn't. But Her loving Zack too is interesting shit.

I'd say before the lifestream event anyway. I think Tifa got to know Cloud a bit under the highwind, and it's possible Aerith had him figured out then too.

and honestly, if NOT for COLW, I would have dropped this Aerith loved Cloud thing by now.

And if not for the original game, the U10, Crisis Core, and the CCU, I'd have dropped the 'She's still also in love with Zack' thing.

Well I'm by no means saying she knew Cloud as well as Tifa, but she did start to get to know him. Would you consider it impossible that she got to know him in the lifestream?

There was absolutely no way Zack/Aerith was platonic. You'd have to play CC blind, deaf, and quite possibly stupid to not see those two kids were crazy about each other. The only feasible arguement I can see is if she got over him or not by the time FFVII started.

Tifa and Cloud didn't even get a chance for their feelings to grow and develop. He had one actual face to face conversation with her, and then he left shortly after for SOLDIER.

He left several months later, actually.

At the same time, can't I challenge what people have to say? Let me be plain... I think Cloud and Tifa are together. I think Zack and Aerith had a relationship that was never resolved. I think Aerith fell in love with Cloud toward the end. I think whether Cloud had romantic feelings for Aerith or not doesn't affect the story, and doesn't hurt anyone for wanting to believe, but there is no hard evidence suggesting he did.

That is, Cloud loves Tifa, Tifa loves Cloud, Zack loved Aerith, Aerith loved Zack, Aerith loved Cloud.

I think most people here are saying that. They just think the 'Aerith loves X' ones happen contemporaneously, at least for a time.

Also, I'm unnecessarily rough with certain posters *cough* because they'll ignore my ass otherwise.

And...yeah, I'm putting age rules on it, because I don't think you can really understand what you're feeling is love if you're at an emotional stage of immaturity. Course there are exceptions, not everyone is the same etc etc but for the most part, it's true.

I could probably word this better if I gave it some thought and came back to it later.

also i always thought they showed the well scene so many times because it was the last memory they had together. we have no evidence one way or another if she got to sneak out again, but considering what a small town it is and how popular she and her father were, i'd imagine it wouldn't be an easy thing to get away with. at least not often.

Because of several rather salient contradictions which make Aerith look like a goddamn idiot, really.
Getting her own age wrong, not remembering what attracted her to Zack, thinking there wasn't a damn Cetra around in Maiden but casually rousing them all in COLW...

There's contradictions in the story, like the two accounts of Gast leaving ShinRa, then there's wallbangers.

Of the main pair, yes. Wakka and Lulu are similar, though.
Ingus and Sarah also meet the criteria, but are too young under the age standard.

No. Nothing of the sort. Kain has always had a crush on her, but Rosa has always had eyes for Cecil. That's part of what fuels the tensions.
But there's nothing that I've stumbled across in either the original JP game or the remake, nor the production files that suggests Rosa and Kain were an item.
The closest is that Rosa and Cecil are not yet an item, calling her love unrequited and mentioning the pairing is not approved of because she's a Noble and he, technically, is not.

It's certainly possible. But it presumes they get found, that the person is unsympathetic, etc. etc. etc.

Tifa knew the mountains pretty well. The idea of a 'perfect hiding spot' isn't an implausible one.
