But I don't really understand how one of Cloud's many screwed up personalities could mean the real Cloud has feelings for Aerith. Subconscious feelings depend on how his 'personalities' interact in his head, and from the game it looks like they don't talk very much at all.

Well, that's also what we ask the cleriths who come here; where, in the game, the REAL Cloud shows anything that could be romantic - aside from when she died, because of course that had to be poignant.

I've yet got to be convinced about that. Yes, he cared about her - of course he did! Everyone cared about her too. So, to me, that's a moot point. In his actions, I don't think the ZCloud was prone to show any romantic interest towards any of the girls - they said so, that ZCloud was wise to none of them, even if they both harbored romantic feelings for him.

To you, it seems obvious because you played the game that way. You could also be a total jerk to Aerith, ignore Tifa, be sweet to Tifa, etc. The ZCloud is basically the player having fun, that is. However, you cannot play with his feelings anymore when you begin Disc 2 (when he suddenly goes "your actions were all what mattered to me, Tifa"). And that Cloud is totally gaga over Tifa (I mean, come on! You could make him STEAL her PANTIES!). So, where did you see that this Cloud held any romantic feelings for Aerith? That is my question, beyond what the creators can say - what made you think that he fell in love in 15 mere days?

BTW, I have to say, I did read ALL the posts in this thread before joining. It was lulz-worthy, I tell you. XD

You're right ^^, It is probably because I played the game the first time round paying more attention to Aerith but that's because I liked her better than Tifa at that time. Now I respect them equally.

I did play the game the other way as well to see if anything happened. Only thing that happened was that Aerith's ghost in her church on disc 2 wasn't there.

I've already said here that Cloud and Tifa were obviously going to end up together and that there is evidence of it. You didn't need to tell me that if you read my first post. I just said I'd love there to be proof of Cloud loving Aerith even if not in the romantic way but there probably never will be.

Another note, If you find someone you are attracted to, you share similar interests and you feel connected to them it's not that difficult to fall in love in under 15 days, (Btw I wasn't suggesting that was related to Clerith) that's what I believe anyways heh heh. Sooo cheesy. ^o^

I meant if you played and completed the game before Advent Children and the Ultimania then you would perceive things differently.

You played it through with that updated guide to the storyline so your views of what happened will be different from mine.

I think the Ultimania was a good idea, It helped explain a lot of things but it also made some weird changes that would spoil playing the game through knowing them, it would make it less fun for me.

There are a few examples in the storyline that looking from the Ultimania point of view will change them completely.
