Ah, yes, the quantity over substance argument. Strange, then, that it's the memory of Zack that is given the most time and attention in ACC.
Y'know, every so often, I see a certain few persons BAWWWing about how Amano art is canon, and because they used a certain picture of Cloud and Aerith on the OST, that means C/A is teh canonz.
Now, I'd like to illustrate why this is batguano, with a history lesson. Let us hearken unto the 1980s, when FFIII was made. Yoshitaka Amano, after drawing art for FFI and II, drew a tall, manly, white haired heroic figure wielding two swords. Come the release of FFIII. No character who resembles this hero can be found in FF3. Instead, four facelesspreteens, the Onion knights, are there.
No NPC resembles this figure either.
But guess who is still on the Box art and cart?

KerYEP. This figure is also presented in the 'Dawn, worlds of Final Fantasy' Amano artbook. Still has zero relevance to the game.
So does Guy's Dart Gun from the art which never appeared in game.
(Please excuse the fact that the NES cart was modded into a camera.)
Also, folks participating in this thread, if you have complaints or responses to comments, it would be much more practical to air them here instead of elsewhere. Y'know, with Ze people who you have grievances with?
Addendum: And lest I forget, this uncharacter is the image in the FFIII Remake logo. Still lacking any relevance to the game.
Yep, S-E sure would never use Amano art that wasn't relevant to the story, nope nope nope.
