But anyways, saying that he ALWAYS hated Sephiroth isn't true to Cloud's character because at a few points in the game, he points out how he admired him, and that makes it even worse.

Okay getting serious for a moment, I think that the Cloud hating Sephiroth part comes from the Nibelheim moment... And it's not JUST Cloud, it's Tifa too. 'I HAET SOLDIER, MAKO REACTORS, SEPHIROTH!!!1111ON1"

The Nibelheim scene plays a bigger part in the game, than the 2 minute flashback to when Cloud mentions he wants to be like Sephiroth.

OR IS THIS JUST RAPID CLERITH NONSENSE THAT YOU'LL IGNORE?!?!

First of all I think Cloud hated Sephiroth so much back then, was because;

1. He killed Cloud's mother
2. He was hurting Tifa
3. He was hurting Zack
4. He burned down Cloud's hometown
5. Sephy ruined the luff between Cloud and Zack to continue....

But seriously, I thought he had the promise 'etched in his memory'?
And the memories of Tifa was kind of important, so Cloud could return to the real one again.

Tifa is not Clouds light in KH2. Aerith is of course. He was looking for her in KH1 and left her to find his light which is......her...and.

I find it almost impossible to associate Tifa as Cloud's light. There's nothing to support this. It's always been, Sephiroth = Dark, Aerith = Light.

(keeping in mind that this is all really useless information for the compilation anyways)

And Aerith calling Cloud her Koibito is more relevant than Nomura calling Tifa someones koibito. Because Cloud is named in the first. And not in relation to Tifa.

I saw that soooooo long before I actually played the game and totally thought Clerith was the canon pairing because of it. But then you just think about semantics and such and it's like "a love that could never be? How the crap does that translate to a love that is? Doesn't that more readily mean a love that isn't?"

And you could always get all philosophical and say that Sephiroth (or Jenova) WAS the hatred that always was. But that's just gettin' all nuts.

Ehh. I wouldnt trust a North american commercial if I were you. That commercial I believe wasn't aired in Japan, since FF7 wasn't a love story, and love wasn't really even a huge element in it.

Yeah, I know i'm not gonna go right out and count a 10 second long sentance as an answer to the LT, but I do think it was leaning the love story towards Clerith by putting the word love over them. But that could just be the marketers putting their interpretation into the LT and they believed it to be Clerith. -shrugs- Isn't it funny that love isn't that big of a factor in it, but people have been bitching for 12 years about that. Your right, Destiny did lead Cloud to Aerith, just like it did Zack to Aerith.

In my eyes destiny does just about everything really. I do believe Aerith's meeting with Zack and Cloud was destiny, but Cloud and Tifa...err I think destiny can be a romantic word and the train station didn't seem very magincal imo. U_U

The real question is, is being destined to meet someone romantic? Or is being destined to be together with someone for the rest of your life romantic?

I don't even know if you can qualify it as a choice. Aerith does not and would not stand between Cloud and Tifa, that's just not her personality.

I agree, Aerith is a sweetheart and if Cloud loved Tifa, i'm sure she would let him have his happiness with her, but what if Cloud doesn't want Tifa? Then what would Aerith choose. For me destiny would be going through all of that. And still coming back to the woman whom you loved so long ago.

Except we have Clouds own words of starting a new life(WITH TIFA). And living that life to get through his guilt problems. He was never looking for her. He desperately wanted forgiveness. But we are given no indication that he is trying to commune with her fucking spirit.

I'm still waiting for Cloud's decision though...T_T

But Cloud made his decision. In the game.

By the time the lifestream event comes around we basically know Tifa is almost hopelessly in love with Cloud. Inside the lifestream she helps him piece his mind back together. And one reoccurring theme of his mind is TIFA. She knows how the real Cloud feels.

So by the time the Highwind scene comes around when Cloud can't find the words to express these feelings. She has no doubts and lets him know that he doesn't have to say anything. (cue end of the world sex) The next day Cloud is noticeably more confident and happier (I wonder why). And his first thoughts are comforting Tifa.

Right after the end of the game Cloud expresses his desire to start living his life. And that this life will be WITH TIFA.

So yes. Cloud made his decision.

The thing is, the real Cloud has always been all over Tifa, she's the one he's always wanted back then from when he was a kid and the woman he lives with, the mother of his family, with who he raises a kid. Cloud - the real one, not the ZCloud - has never ever expressed any romantic lines towards Aerith. Tifa got all the scenes - and even when he was controled, you could make Cloud say much more for her than what you could ever say about/to Aerith [she's the girlfriend, the girl you steal panties from]. Generally speaking though, ZCloud is "not interested".
And the real Cloud also showed disinterest when his mother told him to get an older girlfriend - he was all about Tifa anyway.

Also, KH will be debunked by other members - but your reasoning has been proved wrong throughout the thread, somewhere XD *didn't play KH/KH2*

And why would he still be searching for Aerith if he had his family, that he was happy living with? I think he have found the thing he wants to spend his life with, and that is with Tifa. He even told her he wanted to start a new life with her, but 'this time it was a little different.'

Let me clear this up for you, I believe Cloud wants Tifa. Why would he else tell her this/be like this:

1. He wants to start a new life with her
2. He was secretly in love with her when they were young
3. He returns to his family after AC
4. SE said that everyone would be where they belonged in AC, and Cloud would be with Tifa. Where he belonged.
5. His desire to be her hero
6. Be noticed by her

Plz answer that.

Since I worked in marketing for quite awhile I can tell you one thing for absolute certain. They spin to sell, and chances were the advertisers and marketing execs knew squat about the game itself. They got a premise, some characters, and spun the shit out of it.

Cloud and Tifa didn't meet at a train station. She rescued him from the train station after being separated for years...hometown burnt down, kidnapped by mad scientist...and yet years later, who should he chance upon (or chance upon him?) none other than his childhood crush. Not romantic, eh? Funny. Sounds like destiny to me. Also, the "well scene" is a thousand times more romantic than any Aerith scene you can toss at it, so I'd say perspective is in order on your end.

Holy shit. Maybe it's because I've had a really long day and my patience is wafer thin, but have you READ the thread. Yes, we Do know, and YES it has ALWAYS been Tifa. And confirmed how?
