Here is what I want to know. How the hell did pink become the "clerith color" to begin with? I've seen it several times. And seriously wtf? Cloud has no connection to pink.
It's because aerith wears pink olololol.

Never mind that she only wears pink because of Zack :awesome:

What's that black stuff on Tifa's face there?

Artistic interpretation of creepy stalker Tifa hovering over Cloud in the dark.

Honestly I thought if anything someone would have a problem with Tifa self harming......

Apparently I don't know my audience.

Obviously if she's desperate enough to hover over Cloud when he clearly doesn't want her there, she must also be a cutter.

Were not really. The two or one beds is nearly trivial. It's the fact that the two share the bedroom that is the imporant fact. One that some just can't seem to grasp.

I'm going to assume that wasn't a jab at me because you've already acknowledged TWICE that I now think it is quite likely they share the same room afterall.

So she comes over to hover over him and watch him sleep? I think to most people that is strange.

You said "I can't buy that". I really don't understand you. If you can buy them sharing a room I don't get why you don't buy bed.

I'm perfectly normal and yet I didn't see how her wondering up to his bedside and talking to him is so strange. Stop trying to make out that I think that she watched him sleep all night and stared at him like some kind of vampire. I've never said that or suggested it.

I can't 100% happily conclude a bed because, like I said, there isn't enough evidence to be sure. A point that KTD made that they sounded like they shared a room in FFVII back in Midgar, and a line from CoT that Vendel quoted which makes it sound as if Tifa was waiting for him to fall asleep (which would of taken a while) made me think yeah ok, makes sense if they share a room because of the above. It'd also explain why no movement was mentioned. But the above, other stuff that has been presented to me and what I've read isn't enough to say that they actually share a bed, I mean they may well do but we simply can't know for sure.

Anyway I'm personally satisfied that they probably share the same room now. Let's drop it.

About the KH thing, why do some people think Cloud is running away from Tifa? If anything it looks like he's running around and she's simply trying to catch up. I even heard someone saying 'Tifa's light blinding Cloud is proof of their incompatibility' when the whole point is that he's finding it hard to take on/find light to combat his darkness. It's only when he meets up with Tifa that he finds light, whether it's his own or her's that he's taken from her. I guess I can't understand why some people can't just accept Tifa is shown is more key to Cloud overcoming his darkness than Tifa is.

I think it's quite obvious that Tifa has something to do with being Cloud's light. The reason why Cloud doesn't want Tifa's light is because he's searching for his darkness - fight off his darkness, which is Sephiroth. People usually seem to assert that with the fact that Aerith is Cloud's light - but what, really? Where is it even shown throughout the game (both I and II), that Aerith is Cloud's light?

First, we have claims saying that Aerith and Cloud meet up in the end, and because all couples are shown to do this as if it's a pattern, Aerith is Cloud's light - big deal, unless Pinocchio and Geppado are in love. And then you see Aerith in KHII cheering for Cloud and rooting that he'll find his light:

"No matter how far away you are...once you find your light...I'm sure it will lead you back here again. Right?

That seems to be enough of a confirmation that she can't be his light. If KHI proves that Aerith is Cloud's light, then why the hell would she say this in KHII? It doesn't add up - unless Aerith's playing mind tricks on poor Cloud.

And then we have others claiming that Cloud is finding his inner light. Throughout the game, all it mentions is him battling his inner darkness. Then there's Tifa saying, "He just needs someone to surround him with light." Why bother adding that line then? In fact, why would you even bother adding Tifa if they were going to make her out to be some kind of stalker chasing Cloud throughout the KH series when she already knows that she's not his light, because her light is too strong for him. Thus, they're not compatible.

But then there's the scene with Tifa confronting Cloud. She glows with a white light, and the next thing we see, Cloud suddenly is glowing with a white light. From that scene itself it should be obvious that Tifa is Cloud's light, or at least, she gave him light for him to fight off Sephiroth, thus them going to a different world (too bad it doesn't end there. And then there's the whole questioning from them asking that if Tifa is Cloud's light, then why wouldn't Cloud come back to thank her...? *facepalms*).

And there's those quotes from the staff members giving blunt hints about who Cloud's light is. You have Nomura saying, if Cloud's darkness is Sephiroth, then Tifa is obviously Cloud's light.

Nomura: In Mr. Nojima's scenario, it explained Cloud and Tifa's connection more in-depth but I deleted it away. I thought it would be more interesting to let the gamers think about it. For example, "If Cloud's darkness is Sephiroth, then Tifa is light"; in that sense you can take it that Tifa isn't really human. The reason Tifa doesn't talk to anyone else besides Sora and Co. may be because she doesn't exist as a human. Of course, I also presented her in a way that she could also be a resident of Hollow Bastion, so I think you can feely think for yourself about her.

If this doesn't prove that Tifa is Cloud's light, I honestly don't know what will to them.

/end rant

No no it was not directed at any one person. But a certain group of people. In the realm of pink.

I'm perfectly normal and yet I didn't see how her wondering up to his bedside and talking to him is so strange. Stop trying to make out that I think that she watched him sleep all night and stared at him like some kind of vampire. I've never said that or suggested it.

Well I never suggested that or suggested that you did. And I would agree that it wouldn't be strange if she way lying next to him. But if she enters his room makes sure he is asleep then begins to ask him questions. Then stands around after he falls asleep is....strange.

And your original assertion was that she walks in and accidentally wakes him up. Not that they were in the same room to begin with. Which is what I was most likely responding to.

I have no way to fathom why this is such an issue for you. If you can admit they share a room why is it such a logical leap to assume they share a bed? It's not even an issue that needs debating. Unless them having separate beds is somehow important to someone.

Anyway I'm personally satisfied that they probably share the same room now. Let's drop it.

Exactly my point. It's just a logical assumption. It doesn't need any special evidence.

Well I personally don't find it so strange, hence why that's how I've imagined the scene both times I've read it. It's just like her walking into the children's bedroom and kissing them on the forehead when they're asleep, it's no big deal. (Oh and I imagined her crouching next to his bed as opposed to standing and asking 'do you love me' while not thinking he'd actually wake up and hear her). The thing is we've been batting this back and forth for several pages now, either you can understand why I don't find it strange or you can't. :wacky:

Well I believe this turned into a debate because someone disagreed with my interpretation of that scene and it went from there. And like you said, having separate beds isn't that big of a deal even if they are in a relationship it's just that I didn't see it that way. Although, if they did share a bed it'd be more believable that they're in a full-on relationship as opposed to a kind of pre/early stage. But in the end they're still into each other regardless so they'd probably end up sharing a bed eventually.

Well I'm having fun if nothing else.

Peace and love. :pimp:
Fun yes, but I'm starting to understand why so many Clerith's have run away. XD (ps. I'm not complaining, I think it's good).

I disagree, otherwise I probably would of made the assumption when I read the text. This is baring in mind I read CoT looking for cloti clues and yet I still never pictured them sharing a bed.

I can understand why others are happy to assume it but I personally am not convinced. I'm not saying it's out of the question, just that it's debatable (hence the debate :awesome:).

I find that kinda strange. Why would they share a room if not to sleep together?

EDIT: Let me clarify. I don't know maybe there is some cultural difference here but when I hear that a guy shares a room with his girl I assume that they are sleeping in the same bed. To me it's the other way around than to you. It's the idea that they sleep in separate beds that needs some kind of extra evidence because that's the 'unusual' or 'strange' arrangement, sleeping in the same bed is the commonplace expected occurrence in these circumstances. No?

Since Cloud and Tifa are both shy creatures, I would think they'd be too shy to share a room. I mean, Cloud still blushes around her, and they don't have that much physical intimacy (AC/C, CoT). They're probably to embarrassed to hug or any of the sort. Maybe the memory of being watched doing something under the Highwind had some lasting effect? :awesome:

I can never really see Cloud and Tifa being sexy with each other outside of fanfiction akshully. I agree with Cloud and Tifa sharing a room, but yes, the one bed is debatable.

If by 'sleep together' you meant literally sleeping together, then two beds in the same room isn't that strange. :monster: They could be sharing a room with two beds.

I remember how Cloud stands up from the bed (after Reno and Rude saved them). He swiftly slides down from the bed facing Tifa's. Hmm... maybe they do have two beds after all?

Well I'm glad I missed all that. The same personalised arguments presented as evidence to support a hypothesis from fairly land. As usual, the old box was opened and the same facts, counters and sources were released. Unfortunately, it never showers like enlightenment should, rather like fly spray and the person runs away shouting out notions of unfair bias.

What really gets my goat is this idea that one should respect all perspectives as being relevant. It's a nice tactic to try and nudge unsubstantiated wants into the same ballpark as facts. One can respect people's choice to believe what they want, but not the notion they should respect the foundations/essense of that belief simply because that person chooses to hold them.

We've seen the same comments, all knocked back with evidence.

It was sad that no more than two pages before, my little three choice post on how perspectives convey the character sat waiting to enlighten closed mind to a larger picture - that if you suggest Cloud and Aeris are soulmates, just look how that notion taints ALL the characters in the mix. They all become selfish, nasty and destructive personalities. Particularly Cloud. And evidence aside, that basic standpoint tells you that there is no romance between Cloud and Aeris, for if there were, Cloud's actions since her death are utterly, utterly reprehensible. And Tifa IS a little icky as well - way to respect your dead friend's memory by shacking up with his soulmate. Yeah, real sweet.

It don't make know sense, and if you have sense, finding that absence of sense, shall we call it, nonsense, is actually pretty easy.

As for the bed situation, as H said, the feel for the original Japanese was simply that Cloud go and drink in private. Do they have a double bed? One would assume so. Generally speaking in fiction, unless stated otherwise you accept any common pretext. They live as a family in a romantic setting - common notion is they sleep together. Unless told otherwise, we assume that truth. Just as we assume they get haircuts unless told otherwise, or use the lavatory, or celebrate birthdays... all fiction is grounded in contemporary expectations so a writer doesn't have to reiterate every obvious point, and when he needs to he does so. There is nothing that suggests separate beds, ergo, we assume they sleep together, and that requires a single bed. Done and dusted.

I Can't decide if you are being sarcastic or not. I really don't get this prudishness of ff7 fandom. SE has a certain style of portraying ff7 that is indirect/ambiguous that's why you don't get all that touchy feely crap but beyond that I don't see this "OMG! OMG! Cloud and Tifa are soooooooooo shy. They would never even touch each other!" That is so utterly peculiar to me that I don't even know how to debate it.

Not being sarcastic here. :awesome: Except for some parts.

You don't have to debate it if you don't know how. I didn't say my words are TRUFAX anywho.

I also never said that Cloud and Tifa would never touch each other. I actually do agree with the sex-under-the-Highwind-thing. So for me, intimacy is nothing new to them, but I took it in AC/C and CoT that they're taking it slowly. It's not the end of the world anymore, and they have all the time in their hands to develop their relationship moar and carp. They live with kids (they're obliged to use some discretion thar) and they have pretty busy lifestyles, they could have decided that maybe they should have some stability first before going further (and for people like Cloud and Tifa, stability is a big thing--after all that's happened). The 'two beds' thing works here, because if you want to take it slowly, you don't get a king sized bed for you and your partner, especially if both of you are sexy as hell. :awesome:

It was shown that they don't have that much physical intimacy in AC/C and CoT. They're shy. They'd touch each other, yes, but not so much yet.

I mean, Tifa has to ask Cloud in his sleep if he loves her. What, so hawt sex every night can't determine that? Cloud never seemed to express even a bit of it in the middle of their lovemaking/s? :awesome: Dense Tifa is dense, then.

...but then, in the game, when Tifa asks Cloud if he slept well and Cloud answers "Next to you, who wouldn't?" Tifa was all "I don't understand". Maybe she is dense... :monster:

Physical intimacy between them holds far more meaning than with any other characters. A hug between Cloud and Tifa is probably more significant than two characters fucking elsewhere. However, FFVII is far from prudish. Tifa breaks into a whore/fetish-house and Don Corneo humps the air--literally on screen.

Cloud says "Next to you who wouldn't?" within minutes of the damn game. Whether or not it's easy to accept, Cloud and Tifa have no problems touching each other. As is evident buy the lingering hand holds, her touching him on Fenrir, his caressing her face--repeatedly, him holding her while she cries at the Forgotten City, the night in the Chocobo stablesbeneath the Highwind...

Is it so hard to fathom that maybe they share a bed?

That makes absolutely no sense, unless you live in the bizarro world of Donna Reid and "I Love Lucy" back in the 1940s. It's basic relationship reasoning that an intimate couple should have no problem sleeping in the same bed, unless some bizarre personal reason/condition or religious covenant keeps them from having physical intimacy. Relationship counselors and psychologists say that its healthy couple behavior to cuddle and share the same bed. It's part of intimacy. It makes no sense not sharing a bed and does not follow the basic norms or understandings of couples who have physical intimacy and have a relationship together. I seriously can't believe anyone thinks that's more plausible than a couple sleeping in the same bed, in the same bedroom.

Which basic norm is this? I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe there's a cultural thing involved?

I know for one that it's pretty scandalous (in our country) for two unmarried people who are obviously in love with each other to share a bed (and a bedroom), because...well, they're unmarried. In fact, even though they're adults, they will still be engaging in premarital sex, and that's already a big NO/OMGSCANDAL.

It makes sense to me. What I don't get is why it doesn't make sense to other people. But I don't mind. :monster: Like I said, must be a culture thing. :awesome: And anyhow, this is about the difference in interpretations, so let's not get too worked up over it.

That sounds like some bizarre Catholic/Victorian/1930's absurd traditionalism or something. People co-habitat all the time in a relationship without being married, and it's far from scandalous. I'm not sure why it'd be such a big deal now, considering they're adults and are free to make their own choices. Sleeping in two separate beds in the same bedroom is like a throwback to the age before the sexual revolution.

It really depends where your raised from. I'm not speaking for Japan, but in some Asian countries like the Phillipines or Korea, their views on sleeping in a same room before marriage is considered scandulous imo. America is just more culturally open to the idea that most couples in America share a room together, married or not. Not trying to start an argument with you guys cause I think its perfectly fine, but I was raised in America, so meh.
