What kills me is that before AC they said there was no way Cloud lived at 7th heaven. Even going so far as to say that it was Tifa's desk that has the family picture on it. Because no way could Cloud have a 'family' picture.

Then when it was shown in CoT that he did live there. Then no way was he going to move back. Well opps. As of CoD he and Tifa have been living together for the better part of 4 years.

So by this point they are down to claiming that Cloud only lived at 7th heaven for like a year at most between FF7 and AC. And in no way did they share a room. Let alone a bed.

My how the haughty have fallen.

It makes me wonder how the creators say that being raised by Tifa has given Marlene a good head on her shoulders. They obviously don't know Tifa the way the PN do. How could Marlene be well adjusted with a nagging delusional slut for a mother figure?

And a father figure who is in love with a dead woman and will abandon his family at the drop of a hat to visit a church or drive through flowers.

There's a difference between loving a person and being in love with a person, Quex.

Vendel, here's a fun game for you. Make a timeline of various movies, games, sourcebooks, etc. releases. Then note the radical shift in Pink Hell Explanations and speculations during these times.

I think he did when he was screwed up. I mean he did agree to the date. And before you say "It was because it happened so fast." if he was so in love with Tifa, he wouldn't have even thought about a date with someone else. Yes he was screwed up at the time, but at that time, I think he did love her.

BUT I think that if Aerith had survived and Cloud had found himself, he would have snapped out of it and been with Tifa... I also predict there would have been a massive cat fight between Tifa and Aerith at one point and I'm annoyed at Square for robbing us of this.

To me he cherished Aerith in the same way he did Zack, as two friends who had a profound impact on his life. He is their living legacy, so to speak. If you want to call that love you can, but it's not portrayed romantically.

Whereas if you had any doubt that his heart lied with Tifa after the lifestream/highwind scenes, the pairing is reinforced again and again in the novellas, movies, and games. If they're so damned incompatible why does SE continue to place them together?

Okay seriously, I think for a brief moment when Cloud was Zack, there was chemistry between the two. But that's as far as I go with it. If a Clerith says that Cloud love Aeirth at that moment, I'd agree or at least not argue with them. Everything else though... it's all about Tifa. That's all I'm trying to say here. Some of you think if I say one nice think about Aerith I need to be burned at the stake. Jesus, calm down. I could come up with worse... how about this:

Cloud loved Aerith so much that he resolved himself to die in AC so that he could be with her. He clearly wasn't happy with Tifa and it wasn't until he heard Aeirth say "Why don't you forgive yourself?" that he decided to live, realizing that's what she wanted.
