They used to have a club on ACF, although so did every other possible pairing in existence. But while I like Tseng as a character—he's my second favorite Turk—I prefer him with Elena.

You can't use 'ッ' (the second character of Zack's name) before a vowel, so it wouldn't work here because the first character of Aerith's name is 'e'. Otherwise it would seem to use the double consonant from what I can see (Zakkura [ザックラ] = Zack/Cloud).

Four characters seems to be the general practice, but some times they go over (シューレン [Shuyin/Len] is 5, ヴィンユフィ [Vincent/Yuffie] is 6). But I don't really now much about coupling naming practices beyond what I make up from what I've seen

And, uhh, you rapid Cloti, did you not see all the hints of Cloud's feelings for Aerith? I mean, he's so totally in love with her, and will probably never get over her, which is why he's flirting with Tifa in CoT and talking about his new life with her. Because, you know, he never did get over his one-troo-luv Aerith's death.

It makes sense. I don't get why you can't realize this.

Well, I like him with Elena too, especially considering how totally hawt Elena actually is (and Tseng). But I kind of thought AerithxTseng has a lot of possibilities, yet no one worked on those possibilities. I would if I were creative enough in writing. DDD;

My second favorite Turk is Reno. Because red-heads are hot.

In Crisis Core, Zack breaks through the glass of the experimental tube when he sees Angeal's face. In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud and Zack had actually planned their escape for feeding time, as shown by scratches on the beakers, which can be seen in the screenshots below. Their escape is unplanned, however, in Crisis Core.

And even if it was significantly different, all we know from the tubes is that they planned to escape at feeding time. Not that it all went according to plan or how the escape entirely played out. And even if there was a major contradiction, newer trumps older, in general.

That is their view on a lot of things, yes. Like trying to make DoC this gigantic sprawling C/A parallel, and insisting Cloud must still be wearing the ribbon because we never see under his sleeve to see he's not.

And yeah, I just can't fathom how someone would refuse to play a game because of a pairing. That's rapid at it's worst.

I think for some, their pairing is their only interest in the compilation. So if their pairing isn't featured in a game, they have no reason to play it.

Sad but true...

But hence why that group of people shouldn't even be called FF7 fans, if you ask me. It's rather silly (and sad too) if you ask me... After all, we would expect people to play the games and enjoy the compilation for its whole and for the story per se, not because of pairing A, B or C... That's just borderline fanatism (calling this sort of people FF7 fans is to give the compilation's fan base a bad name) and not fandom, IMHO.

I mean, even if we don't like or agree with the direction the creators went, we should at least acknowledge it and respect it. Twisting things around and post false information and erronic interpretations (yes, I have finally read Destiny Failed and although I admit there was an excess of bluntness/harshness in there at times, some of the stuff that is brought/discussed/analyzed there is simply mind blowing) doesn't really give any credibility to one's side... especially if you lack on the factual proof department.

In the end, this sort of behavior only serves to give a bad image of the FF7 fanbase/community, not just of Clotis, Cleriths, Zeriths, etc, etc.

Well, to be fair, I only played FF7 [I only have computers, a Wii and a DS ]. I also admit that my gameplay preferences have lots to do with not playing those games.

That's legitimate. I've only played a rushed game of the JP Crisis Core because I don't actually own a PSP, but at least I've watched the cutscenes, and plan on a proper replay once I get the system.
What's really egregious are the people who- without having played the majority of the games in the series, try and make sweeping generalizations about the content therein.

I'm looking at you, 'It's always a knight and a white mage' nutbars.

Addendum: Wait, Aerith 'accepts Cloud for who he is' despite not knowing who he is, and 'not for being like Zack' despite us being told BY AERITH HERSELF she was focused on their similarities and by the CCU that her attraction to Cloud is based on Zack.
As for 'Tifa put off when she learned he wasn't SOLDIER', LOLWHAT? This is 'Supports the mentally weak side of Cloud' Tifa we're talking about.

Yes, Vendel, it does cloud their perception of all the characters. Because in no way is the opposition allowed to be better than their Mary Sue version of Aerith.
