Interesting, hito I think it makes sense, since the guilt is such a deep emotion that cuts Cloud off from his happiness [family & friends]. That would also heavily hint towards the affectional friendship that I talked about earlier.

That sort of "die without you" mentality is fine for a video game as it's just that--a video game. It's not like we're suppose to put a video game up to our lives and use it as a template on how to live...it's strictly entertainment and amusement purpose only, IMO. Some people take that kind of illogical mentality as something to astrive for, which I find particularly ludiricous.

I don't care, tired of people polluting my media with that shit.

But reading through the last few pages, I have a question: Why is two weeks too short to have developed a meaningful friendship, but long enough to have developed a life-long love? I think I read someone say that their friendship couldn't have gotten that deep in two weeks, so love made more sense? Maybe my reading comp is suffering but I don't get it.

This is true, though a gross overstatement of time, but actually quite irrelevant, since decisions of schtuppability != love beyond death, etc. And it really ought to include the same elements as a deep and abiding friendship of the kind that it's been implied two weeks is too quick to have develop in.

Even setting that aside- and BTW, when she met him, did she also 'meet him?' and was this the first or second meeting?- it's irrelevant since Cloud didn't get to peek into her very soul of being at all, and so must depend on sucky human methods of getting to know people, which includes need to develop a friendship or similar relationship along the way to proper love.

Love happens in an instant and lasts forever. You meet your soul mate once and then bam. You're connected for eternity. You don't even have to know them, you'll just feel it. A lovely warmth in your crotch heart that will always be there as long as you're around them.

Cloud felt that, and that's why he loves her the most.
