No, I'm being srsly, guy. Manly Clotis. Even Especially the women. (See: OWD)

Nomura told me that's why he doesn't confirm that C/A is canon. He's afraid of getting chased down a dark alley by a pack of butch lesbian Clotis who will beat seven shades out of him for ruining their OTP.

Me and Nomura are tight, yo. He tells me these things for reals.

Yeah, but there's more than that then manliness. You're forgetting the emo fans too. That's why they like Cloti; Tifa and Cloud wear black. They go through a ton of shit. It makes perfect sense.

He's also probably scared of the lawsuits he'll get after we see hundreds of Cloti fans suffering from depression.

Wasn't that translated (by you) in the past tense?
There is no tense. They've left out the actual end of the sentence, and this fragment they had doesn't have past, present, nor future tense. It's a conjunctive conjugation used to join sentences. The tense comes at the end, which is past tense in this case.

This is the ideal example of cherry picking, as they've taken half a line without regards as to whether or not it makes sense.

I GOT AN IDEA. :monster:

If Cloud hits Aerith, is romantic. Then...... TsengxAerith FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 :reptar:
But didn't Cloud just push her or something? :awesome:

TsengxAerith was proven canon by Clerith standards long ago!

Cloud cries over Aerith?
Pah! Aerith cries over Tseng!

Cloud has a special connection with Aerith, no-one else has?
Pah! So does Tseng!

So I'm still stuck on a couple of pages ago. Even if Cloud loved Aerith, how does it follow that the love must be more powerful than anything he could ever have with Tifa? So if a man's wife died and he moved on, must the new love always be a mere shadow of the old one? Can't you love two people separately but equally?

I'm guessing because it's supposed to be viewed as more 'romantic.' The idea of your loved one passing away, and then being able to solidify herself and being able to watch over him, seems to me like a fantasy type story that people seem to conjure as romantic or heartfelt. Meanwhile, Cloud and Tifa are both alive. There's nothing fantasy-esque about that, and it's more realistic than anything else.

Unfortunately, to some, the idea of a realistic relationship whilst staying happy isn't appealing. It must be given a speck of sparkles and glitter and sugar coated.

Folks shouldn't be holding their fanfic fantasies up as a universal standard.

More essay lols:
In Japanese, the game manual states that Aerith is actually engraved in Cloud's heart for the rest of his life. Most would agree that being "engraved in one's heart" is an expression of love. Such an expression wouldn't be used to express the relationship of friends.

I C.

BTW those new essays are on the main page. Not in the forum. So I really doesn't require that much work to find. Just saying.

Because it's Aerith. Aerith obviously could move on from Zack and love Cloud super special more. And continue to love him after death. But Aerith is so special that Cloud just can't move on. Not even with Tifa throwing her 'something warm' at him left and right.

And why would he have to? Aerith lives in his body after all. They have a very fulfilling relationship post AC.

I love the way they make all these unsupported assertions ("Such an expression wouldn't be used to express the relationship of friends") without making a damn bit of effort to back any of them up with anything other than speculation :monster:

So if your best friend dies, they're to be forgotten?
Well, that's just plain shitty!

I have to ask, what the does irl stuff have to do with a discussion of fictional pairings?

Because Tifa doesn't get the engravement. D :

Obviously if the cat is always in her heart, she must have had a romantic relationship with it because the rapid Cleriths said so :monster:
