I think it was Vendel who mentioned something talking about Aerith and Zack 'going back where they belong' (the Lifestream) at the end of AC. That's from the story playback of AC in the 10th Anniversary Ultimania. Cloud isn't going to suffer in solitude anymore, so they go back to the Lifestream.

Oh and they call Aerith the 'affectionate mother' again

Though she is the only one to be IN his mind AND was the focus of the core of his being, but yes, there's also Denzel and Marlene, and Zack, and Aerith, and Avalanche.

And I always thought Denzel meant redemption for both Tifa and Cloud as well. I also don't believe Aerith had anything to do with their meeting. I mean how exactly did she lead him there?... it's not like she can just call him on the phone and have him... oh wait....

Important doesn't equal romance. There have been several quotes that imply that Aerith is important to Cloud but it's always dismissed as "JUST FRIENDS!" but any time a quote saying Tifa is important comes up it's "OMG ROMANCE!" I realize Cleriths like to blow things out of proportion, but that doesn't mean you have to disprove every single Clerith quote or find Cloti in everything.

The thing is, she's singled out as 'an important woman and the mother of their family', whereas I don't think Aerith has actually been called such.

And before you throw quotes at me, I'm talking about ones that don't imply romance. A lot of them do but not all and I don't think being "important" does.

Well it's been stated officially that Tifa was jealous of Aerith. Whether or not she should have been is up to you I guess. I don't think she had anything to be jealous of really, but wasn't Tifa also kinda jealous of Cloud when Denzel learned to clean from him?... I guess it it's just who she is.

Being jealous is actually distinct from having anything to be jealous about.

A discussion about Tifa's role in the family "mother or Sister". Of course it's mostly about how bad of a mother she is. How she really doesn't love her children like a mother would. What her relationship to Cloud is. Anything but lover apparently.

But it's okay, she can be motherly to Cloud and still be a lover. Unlike that evil Tifa who missed her chance, but she still keeps THROWING herself at him, the HUSSY.

Like I said before- A woman feeling motherly towards her man is natural. A man feeling mothered by his woman seems a bit bad for the relationship but not creepy. A man thinking of the woman in terms of his mother, or getting a 'momly' vibe from her, now that's Oedipal.

Well, what she was mentioning was that despite all the random thoughts in Cloud's subconscious, all of them relate to Tifa in some way or another, and there's not even a trace of a glimpse of Aerith.

She's had nice quotes, but rarely are they specific singling outs like the "important woman to him and mother of their family" and other quotes in relation to Cloud.
And the ones that are tend to emphasize the whole guardian mother spirit angle.

I do think Zerith is cute, but just that. Aerith and Zack seem more like old friends then lovers living out the past they didn't finish. I mean they are both obviously friends so joking is natural. Being closer in ACC? My gawd...thank you. I know now, they must be canon. Thank you so much really...I have not need to debate any pros for Clerith now. It's all dismissed. Jk, that would make me waayy less annoying and our lives would be over if we stopped this lame, pointless, immature debate.

Zerith is not only cute, but it's a tragic love story. I don't think that they're old friends with quotes stating that they have an inseperable relationship, and that they are vital to eachother's existence. Not to mention that Zack meeting Aerith is called destiny, and that Zack will always be by her side. It seems rather obvious that Aerith isn't over Zack when you play Crisis Core and then play FFVII again. Aerith is wearing pink for Zack like they promised, and continues to wear his ribbon, as she said she would wear it always. She sells flowers because of him, even. Everything that Aerith does, can pretty much relate to Zack. There are also about three, I believe, quotes saying that Aerith acts the way she does around Cloud because of Zack. It's stated that Crisis Core is supposed to make this clear- and it's crystal clear in my eyes. They've set the pairings straight at this point.

Of course she is. It'd be pretty damn heartless of Cloud to forget her, just because she's deceased.

Some? Really? Where? xD I've seen everyone argue that Tifa is the only one in Cloud's mind during the Lifestream event- that's a true fact. Outside of that, there are many people in Cloud's mind. Ones he will never forget.

Oh, and at least it makes a bit of sense for Clotis to say that. The quote saying Tifa is the only one that Cloud opened his heart to, and Tifa is the only woman that understands Cloud and can piece together his mind makes it kind of obvious that she's the MAIN reason for him even being himself again.
