Oh and btw. According to my "sources"* Barret is the father figure of the 7th Heaven family. He and Tifa are raising Marlene together again by the time DC rolls around. All you rapids who insist Cloud is Marlene's new daddy couldn't be further from the truth.

The plot is about Cloud seeking a way to redeem himself for his perceived sins. If Aerith did have anything to do with the boy, it's to give Cloud someone to save so he can forgive himself.

Ugh. Some days I'm amused by the drivel. But some days I'm just tired and the complete lack of coherency pisses me off. Someone shoot me if I ever become such a batshit fan of something that I throw all logic out the window.

The simple explanation is that the "family" is one more threat to their OTP that needs to be gotten rid of.

The family joins Tifa, Zack, Denzel, Lifestream event, highwind scene, creator statements and Cloud living with Tifa (and more I can't think of atm). On the list of things that really bury their OTP. And must be fought at all cost.

During it he talks about meteor fall that happened 4 years earlier. Although I think your pinker buddies are aware that the story is told in flashback.

And in the story Denzel talks about the people that take care of him or some such. The last named are Tifa, Cloud and Marlene. Not Barret.

Look if Barret and Tifa were divorced (or just broke up if never married) but maintained a good relationship then it would not be a problem. Barret is her father. But Cloud and Tifa are D&M's parents/guardians. But because T and B were never in a relationship they think they can somehow twist this into "Barret's family".

As far as I am concerned Barret feels the best thing for Marlene is to be raised by C/T. Epically now that she has a brother who she cares for very much. Also the fact that Tifa is basically her mother anyways. He would never remove her form that situation. Or try and remove Cloud. And even if he moved back to edge C/T would still be the primary caregivers.

FYI I agree with this and I even posted it on the pink forum in response to someone saying that Barret had returned by DoC. If he did, Denzel doesn't think he's very important

Probably.

Just like Barret leaving Marlene with C/T is Barret creating the family. Thus it is his family. Not Tifa and Cloud's.
