Here's the thing I've noticed about C/A fans on that site in particular. They are ducklings. Wary, skittish, little ducklings that do nothing more than follow. There is no contention there, even when alternative facts become blatantly obvious. It's creepily cult-like. What the leader says must be so and there is no counter argument--and I'm not even talking about arguing C/T. I mean simply calling people out on their bullshit.

What I wonder is, do said ducklings who obediently toe the party line ever get upset at all when their leaders do a complete 180?

I mean, take the koibito thing. First, FFG and her cabal of senior Cleriths were all "koibito means nice person/non-romantic", and C/A fans arguing on her behalf in LTDs were enthusiastically parroting everything said, even producing articles and Q&As with alleged native Japanese speakers to support it. Yet after CoL, the party line has immediately and unapologetically shifted to become "koibito means lover/definitely romantic".

Are the DF followers, after having spent so much time debating for their leaders, embarrassed at all at this total about-face which has pretty much destroyed their own prior arguments and their credibility?

For one everyone seems to be Cloti here, so starting to say "Believe Cloti fuckers!" wouldn't make a debate, but more thanks to my posts. Not everyone here is Cloti. There are a few Clerith fans that pop in from time to time, some that are active on this Forum. Also, not everyone here is a shipper. And, there's Audi I can use as an example. She doesn't like Tifa at all, Aerith is her favorite character. She however, sees that Cloud and Tifa are a pair. I think that if you have something to say, especially as a neutral, you should speak for both sides, and not lean constantly towards one side. That doesn't really promote your neutrality. There weren't all Clotis at TNC, and yet you still seemed to support the Clerith side. Just as a question but, is there a reason why Cloti needs to be proven canon? If you're a neutral there would be no need for that. I'd actually like to see what it is you do like about Cloti, or what you think makes it a plausible pairing in the game. Now, you don't have to prove anything to me, and I'm not going to be offended if you don't want to respond. I'm just curious myself because, Clerith seems to be the pairing you've always supported. I ramble, though. You can ignore everything I just said if you want to.

Lol yeah, they were "first loves" i'm pretty sure they were in a relationship. But, what messes with that now is Aerith calling Cloud her beloved. I'd like to not think of her as a two timer so I have decided she doesn't love Zack anymore and decided to go conformist and love Cloud like everyother women in FFVII. I always assumined Aerith was over Zack when she sent him the last letter, not as anti evidence for Zerith, but I just never thought of Aerith the kind of girl to pin on the past much, or at least I didn't want her to be. U.U

Yes, they are described as first love. However, words like destiny, fate, inseparable, indispensable, sincere, and forever are words that cannot be over-ruled simply because Aerith is confused about her feelings. Crisis Core quotes and game came after Maiden (who's canoness is questionable) . Though, when you read COL, true Aerith does call Cloud her lover. Reading Maiden, or considering the time line in general, one can assume that she made this statement before Zack was awakened. Which makes sense considering that in Maiden, Aerith admits that she doesn't know who the real Cloud is and when she thinks of him, she awakens Zack. Minus the Maiden part, logic is still there since there are plenty of quotes pushing Zerith, and pushing the fact that Aerith saw Zack in Cloud.

I never saw Aerith's last letter as a break-up letter. She thanked Zack in that letter, it was sweet. It seemed more like her coming to terms with the fact that Zack was never coming back, that he was lost at war or more importantly, dead. Which she DOES realize at the end of the game. If Aerith isn't one to pine over the past, why would she wear the pink dress and ribbon? Why would she be reminded of Zack, or even mention him? Why would her Mother notice how heartbroken her daughter is over the loss of someone special?

I know, I know I didn't say it necessarily was, but it always had a romantic feeling imo. :3 And for Tifa, I believe it was "etched in his memory" about the promise.

This scenario is not like 'cohabitating friends' in the slightest, especially with the addition of two kids for them and only them to raise, including one that is repeatedly hammered home as theirs.

Well, now they even deleted that in ACC. But really, I think it's kind of weird to put just Aerith there in the flowerfeild, watching Cloud, if she's not 'singled out'. But I wonder why they changed it..

(which was bad seeing I was at work playing my PSP xD) Then in CoT it was even better when he blushed and tried to be optimistic. In VII Tifa&#8217;s devotion at Mideel was fantastic and actually Tifa running with Cloud in that wheelchair was my favorite scene in FFVII. The cutesy little smile he gave at the end of AC was terribly adorable. Cloud and Tifa have potential to be hot and cute which makes them well rounded. I've wondered if they didn't take her off the screen because people people thought she was solidly here and Cloud was after her [even though it made no sense whatsoever...]. To have this kind of reasoning takes off from what they wanted to create, IMHO.
But, more importantly, I think the reason why they changed it is because of the last screenshot in ACC; more than Aerith looking over Cloud, they have her reunited with Zack. If Aerith was still looking over Cloud, the new ending would make little sense, as well as her leaving with Zack.
Also, didn't they put Aerith there in AC because she wasn't appearing that much? I think it was the primary reason.

I basically think this. When I first saw her in Calling after my first couple of watches I was completely thrown off by it. I just didn't get why she was there, it almost spoiled the "You're okay now" ending to the movie.
