That's a fight I'd pay to see. I think Rude would win in terms of strength, but, in a scenario where it came down to a life or death fight between them, would he kill Reno? He doesn't hit Tifa... Maybe Reno would have the ruthless edge in the end.

Rude might be Peeta and throw away his weapon, but Reno would be more of a Katniss I think.

@ Kassi - thank you for your kind words and for the art. I love those Little Rufus pictures, especially the one with Rude. Your project sounds intriguing. To answer your original question at last, about why I think the Turks are awesome:

Elena - she never annoyed me like the other female characters in the original
game. (I liked Tifa, but her gravity-defiying character design just made me laugh.) For all her occasional ditzyness Elena came across as a professional doing her job. And I liked the bit where she hit Cloud, because I could never duck!

Rude - I didn't have much sense of him as a character in the original game. He won my interest in AC, and then he broke my heart a bit in BC in the Chelsea episode. And since coming here, I've got more and more interested!

Tseng - Originally I got him mixed up with Reeve and thought he was BAD when he laughed at the party and hit Aerith. (When I first played the game, I was a Cloud fan.) Then I got into fanfiction, and saw some fan art, and read "Death is Part of the Process" and fell in love with him (thank you Licorice!) very nearly as much as the one I like slashing him with most -

Reno. My all time fave, and I think always will be. He was great in the original game, and in AC, despite his prettification. I like him in all his incarnations - I like him as ratboy Reno but also as bishie Reno. If he was really that pretty, but original game bad, that would be an interesting contrast! I think he'd be a terrible boyfriend, unlike Rude, but a fantastic one night stand!

Rufus - is the epitome of cool.

I'd never seen the interrogation one before - the story behind that would be fun to write. I love Reno as a pirate, and Rufus' face in "My big fat Turk wedding", and that Crimson Sun one of Reno and Tseng post fight is one of my all time faves. Tseng's hair! ~~And now they'll have to kiss and make up...~~

In the strip poker one I love the way Reno still has all his clothes on - even his goggles - when he's the only one who hardly bothers wearing much anyway. I bet Rude's good at poker except with Reno. He probably has some tiny tell that only Reno has noticed.

I can't wait for next Thursday!

Fangu -- good comments all! Yeah, there's a larger version of the Pirate Reno one, somewhere out there, with Axel beside him. I haven't got it, though.

He's the reason why the gum is gone.

It seems to me that everyone has their own perceptions of fictional characters, based on individual experiences, opinions, preferences and so forth. My Head-Reno now has a lovely oral fixation thanks to all the fanart where he's sticking out his tongue, blowing bubbles, smoking cigarettes -- and licking, biting or sucking popsicles, lollipops, people and inanimate objects. Also thanks to fanart, my Head-Reno has a hair-pulling fetish... :awesome:

Licorice -- I love the cat one! Is there a name for that style of drawing? I find so much Turk Crack done in that style but my graphic design knowledge is less than zero.
