I'm CloTi 4 lyfe but you know Cloud loved Aeris because he spent a bajillion years brooding over how it was his fault that she died and he couldn't save her. Dunno why people like romanticising the whole 'one love of your life' nonsense.

* i shouldn't have looked it up at all tbh because man it's annoying. the first link i found that linked directly to this starts off by complaining about cloud/tifa fans doing 'character assassination' on the poor french novel translator then spends paragraphs talking about how the english translators are biased incompetents. the french and german translators are all highly qualified with a deep knowledge of ff, but i guess they just picked the english translators off the street.

claiming that c/t fans now 'make up' a new definition of koibito when they actually did that! for years! constantly! and now it only has one meaning, the one that was wrong when it was talking about tifa in that reunion files quote! lol! no! no! fuck off lol

this is after years of saying you can't say anything definitive unless you have an 'official' english translation, yet when there is one suddenly you can just disregard it because you don't like what it says.

Well fwiw those people pushing things such as koi_____________bito and WacDonalds and "you can't know unless it's in English" are pretty much gone now. People like Shroudy, Anastar, FFG, Resha, Chibica... yeah they're all gone. This is a newer group of Cleriths. In fact I joined a Clerith Discord and I think only 3 people knew who I was... everyone was really nice though. Just chilling and talking about games and what not. There's a Cloti one too and honestly everyone seems pretty cool in both.

Part of me wishes they'd merge for a day or two because I bet people would get along for the most part... minus LTD stuff

the post i saw was from a blog run by someone who's been around since the Bad Days so i know they were around for the bullshit

i did see a quote by chibica i think for that sephiroth line and it was the only one that didn't go for 'mother's body' (i think it was 'prototype for the reunion' instead) so. good for her. i think it's a bit of an awkward line to translate but i couldn't see what the terrible awful dark horse ultimania went with on the tiny image i saw of the quote (and i don't want to go back to look for it)

it sounds dismissive but i hope all the older fans have aged out of it and been replaced with younger fans who are just chill and relaxed while i just sit here and remember it all like it's apocalypse now but really stupid

It’s like I said, Cloud loves both. In real life, you often fall in love with more than one person throughout your life for various reasons. FF7 made things real, including the romance aspect of the story. That said, I don’t think they ever had the opportunity to bang lol.

So much salt lol. And a majority of the comments/saltiness were from one particular shipping group. For being such a minority according to the poll (25% compared to 75% out of a sample size of greater than 7000!), they sure were extremely vocal. Focus more on supporting your own favorite pairing instead of attempting to tear the other ship down geez.
