I'm flattered by the positive response to my "Aerith met the real Cloud" theory. There's no way to prove it but it's a beautiful Clerith perspective.

But what I really want to say is, I'm happy with the past pages of meta discussion. This proves that we are not Ultimaniacs <- as what other people accuse us.

So, wait, why is that a bad thing? We're maniacal about a source of facts and real information, how terrible.

Just to be clear in case that I was misunderstood. I was saying that we do not rely solely on what the official books say. We can form our own arguments based on the source material alone, but in the end we can always reconcile them to numerous canon references.

In short, that was a response to the accusation that we are relying on just on page or just one phrase to prove our point. Peace.

Depends. Who are you trying to prove it to? The whole reason Ultimanias were ever brought up in the first place is to corner certain people who refuse to acknowledge blatantly obvious indications of romance. This shit is ridiculously simple.

So apparently this quote is popping up all over the place now. Including our frontpage. And I guess it's the magic elixer that proves it's all up to interpretation/player/obviously clerith.

If we take this quote for context, it speaks for the game, not for the compilation as a whole.

The big problem is that they think that the quote is the premise of every material that follow. Meaning, no matter what the Ultimanias say or no matter how blatant the romantic connection is (Case of Tifa), the canon is there is no canon couple because of the said quote. They put this quote on the high pedestal as an invalidation of subsequent evidences. It's a very convenient but weak strategy.

And when you point this out to them, all your arguments are simply "opinions" and "disagreements."

Well after a little looking I found this.

The following quote from Nomura has also been stated on a number of forums and websites:

Except I have seen that quote and the one I posted labled as two different quotes. One right after the other.

Now it wouldn't surprise me if the one I posted (the one floating around now) was a bastardization of the KH quote.

They aren't two different quotes. It's the same one, one is just reworded very poorly. They got it off a Tifa website. Yam (who has the "who cloud likes lol" quote on her page) actually told me herself that those quotes were the same.

Yes. Sometimes it is quoted as a set with the mangled version.

Not only has it been around for years, it's talking about KH. Aaaand it's been pretty much established both in the games and out that Cloud was looking for Sephiroth (and through him, his own light blah blah blah).

Besides, Nomura et al said that a lot of shit in KH appeared ambiguous because they purposefully left threads unresolved, hoping for a sequel, but uncertain that it would happen. If it didn't, people could speculate on the mysteries of the first. But Final Mix and then KHII did happen. So there's no fucking question.

Besides, even if KHII was not released now, the fans can still have fun with the underplots in the previous game and make their own speculations. In that way, although the game gets old, people can still continue being happy with it so I think it&#8217;s possible to draw the curtain like how the previous game did.
