Sure, I'll give you the flowers as a Zerith symbol. The first flowers in the wastelands growing where her first love died seems pretty romantic. I'm sure there might be other ways to interpret it, but I like it as a Zerith symbol because I ship them.

Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

At the same time, I don't think that symbol should be taken as some sort of hint that they're sexing it up in the lifestream. They. Are. Dead. There's no continuing of the past romantic relationship.

I don't think anyone here was suggesting that. Seriously that is. Afterlife sex is reserved for the pinkers.

What about Cloud's. He did see them leave together....right?
Yes... and he's with Tifa... and he obviously saw them as a couple... so what's your point?

My point is "The sword in the church proves Z/A" or whatever shouldn't be used because Cloud putting the sword there has no bearings on Aerith's feelings.

I didn't mean for the afterlife sex to be taken literally. I just mean that I don't see it being possible for them to start up their relationship again when they're dead. The last thing we're told about Aerith's feeling is in ColW and it's that she loved Cloud at the time of her death.
Sure it's sweet and all to think that Zack and Aerith are running through flower fields hand in hand in the afterlife, but it's just speculation. I don't don't consider them walking through a door into the white light a sign that that's true either. Take it that way if you want, but it's far from a rock solid argument that they've continued a romantic relationship in death. There just isn't any evidence to it other than viewer interpretation that varies from person to person. It's far less convincing than than the Cloti evidence of expressing mutual feelings, the lifestream event, and Cloud saying that his life would be different now that he has Tifa with him. Like I said, the last word we're given on Aerith's feelings are that she loves Cloud. Anything beyond that is speculation that no one can really prove.

What about Cloud's. He did see them leave together....right?
I guess he's a Zerith shipper. Doesn't mean it's canon though. :monster:

I'm ducking out for the night. It's 3 am and my son just woke up screaming bloody murder. It's kinda hard to type with him curled up in my lap.

I thought this is cleared up already, when to use koibito as "lover" and when as "beloved"?

NOT AMUSED
shouldn't be used because Cloud putting the sword there has no bearings on Aerith's feelings.
They're markers for the audience, as much as Cloud.
WE know Zack/Aeris are a couple, die and leave together at the end of AC, Cloud sees them, then places Zack's sword in Aeris' church garden, and then...that says nothing about Zack/Aeris?
No one says it means they're having babies in the Lifestream. It just further reinforces both the relationship Zack/Aeris shared in FFVII, as well as their relationship with Cloud (close friends).

The fact that the Buster Sword and flowers are put together is significant, it isn't just a more convenient way for Cloud to honor two unrelated dead friends without having to drive to two different locations, ok?
YES, it does have bearing on what Aeris and Zack were to each other whether you like it or not.

Of course it does.... :monster:

My point is that it shouldn't be used to say who Aerith loves more because....

...

because I'm tired and I dun wanna do this anymore :( I don't think I'm being clear anyways. I never said they didn't have anything special, I never said she didn't love Zack and yadidahdah.

She loved them both, she loved them both differently, can I do that?

I think this should be pretty obvious, I don`t get why people question this at all.

@TresDias
First: Glad you`re here.

I have two questions:
1. Do you know this Yam (nick) and if you do, what do you think of her?

2. About Johnny being from Nibelheim:
SOURCE: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Johnny
Johnny is a minor character from Final Fantasy VII. A young man hailing from Nibelheim, he is a childhood friend of Tifa Lockhart and secretly has a crush on her.
SOURCE: http://tifa.nu/tifa/original/original.php?z=johnny
Johnny's Letter During the Kalm Town flashback, Cloud is given the opportunity to search Tifa's bedroom as it existed five years ago. On her desk is a letter - it never actually states who it is from, but the content coincides with Johnny's story exactly. In the letter, Johnny describes his first impressions of Midgar (as he had just moved there at the time of writing), his plans and his feelings in hindsight of leaving.

Tifa, how are you? I just arrived in Midgar eight days ago. Yesterday. all of Nibelheim got together to welcome me. The only person that we couldn't get a hold of was Cloud. But everyone said he wasn't really that close to us. So even if we asked, he probably wouldn't have come anway. Well, enough about him. Midgar is really something. But to tell the truth, I feel so behind on everything... so out of it. Even the rooms of people in the slums are clean. Right now I'm living in the slums, but I plan to move to a really nice room, like the ones I've seen in magazines, once I make some money.
...But, to do that, I guess I have to find a job first. That's right. I still haven't found a job yet. I lied to my parents and told them I found a great job with Shinra, Inc. I wonder if it's too late to go back. Sometimes I think I should've taken over my parents' store. I just made it here to Midgar, but all I think about is Nibelheim.
Hey, Tifa... Is that stupid old water tower still working? Is the old man at the Inn doing well? Are my parents still at the shop everyday? Have any monsters attacked? And most of all, how are you, Tifa? It feels like I haven't seen you for years. We were talking about you last night. Everyone likes you. But because everyone idolizes you, I couldn't very well stab them in the back. I always acted cool, but actually, I was just afraid of being jilted.
Wow, if I keep writing like this, this'll become a love letter! So, I think I'll stop here. Take care. I'll write again.
P.S. Write me back, okay?
When I read this both back then, it made sense that the letter from the Nibelheim flashback was from Johnny.
Are you saying she has no proof of this (and the wikia is also wrong) or she had just false information on that?

Whoa deep... I like it, good post.

But yeah I do agree, Aerith loved them both and we probably shouldn't be trying to quantify it. One of the main reasons I keep bringing it up is to bring actual discussion to the table troll :monster: Love is tricky and all that.

Fiiiixed? :awesome:

I don't know her, and though I've only seen this one "translation" by her, I have to say that if it's any indication of the majority of what she does, then I'm thoroughly unimpressed.

Yep, I'm saying she has no proof of this. The cited proof (the FFVII Kaitai Shinsho/FFVII Dismantling) has no such information.

Likewise with her claim that the book says "Tifa" is derived from "Tiffany."

Doesn't FF wiki also claim this?
Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary Ultimania states that "Tifa" is a shortened version of the name Tiffany. In Japanese, Tiffany is written as ティファニー - the same way that Tifa is spelled, only with '-ni' at the end. Tiffany in turn comes from a Greek word that means "manifestation of God". D

hmm... When I first got aware of this all, I read some posts of her. I don`t remember much anymore. She seemed like knowing a lot and has a fondness for Nomura. Her Profile.

Now I`m confused, I always thought they were childhood friends.
When did they become acquainted then? They seemed like close friends.

Even Case of Denzel -- which recounts Johnny living in Sector 7 and having a thing for the bartender of Seventh Heaven -- doesn't mention anything about them being childhood friends. It simply isn't so.

All these "childhood friend" quotes confused me I guess. :/

Also, what do you think of this (2:40):

Well, it sounded reasonable. IDK.

Yeah, and I demand a new poll!

We`ll see who will win this time. :shifty:

You need to add Zack. Then see who wins.

BTW What's all this stuff about my Johnny question doing here? Not that I'm not glad to see it getting answered or anything, but I normally avoid LTD like the plague so I might never have seen it.

Case of Denzel also has Johnny back in Midgar and crushing on Tifa when in-game his ass moved to Costa Del Sol and he got married/engaged/shacked up with someone else...

Johnny sure gets around...

CaseofDenzel said:
Johnny ran a cafe in the main street. It was a humble establishment in a patch of open ground with a stall, some tables and a few chairs where he could do some simple cooking. The name of the shop was called Johnny's Heaven. It was a name that was similar to the diner that once existed in the slums of the Seventh Sector. That diner's name was "Seventh Heaven" which had a hostess that Johnny fell in love with. That girl's name was Tifa.
Months after the incident when the Seventh Sector collapsed, Tifa reopened up a new Seventh Heaven in Edge. At the time, Johnny was moved by how Tifa could decide what she should be doing while the rest of the crowd was still indecisive. And so, with those thoughts in mind, she became a respected figure in Johnny's heart.
That was in the past. He was in love with her. Now "she became a respected figure in Johnny's heart. "

He's referring to Cloud with the line about memories under the stars as kids. He's saying he doesn't share that with her like Cloud does. "About all I got is the sake she poured me everyday I went to the bar."
I know that! :monster:
She obviously told him things, you would only tell your bestest friend, no?
So: When did they became such great friends?
