The most annoying fandom assumptions that make no sense and won't die.

That Last Order is worthless because it contradicts the rest of the compilation.

I don't know how many times I've had to say to people, "It's the Turks version of the story"... but it's a lot. You see the Turk at the event, the entire thing is narrated by Tseng who wasn't even there, and is looking through a report.

I just really like Last Order and wish fans would look at it for what it is. [/rant]

I remember spending hours trying to up my wonderful chocobo stats to breed for the gold chocobo and got Joe in like 4 straight races. I almost killed some cunt!!!!!!!!

Anyone ever remember the rumour that if you got Cloud to level 100, his hair turned black?

And I've got another cheeky misconception. Reeve did not build Cait Sith, the Weapons Department did. Reeve only brought him to life using Inspire

Before Crisis showed that version too so before the ultimanias and CC came out no-one was really sure. That's obv what caused all the arguments. Stupid inconsistencies.

3.) In AC, when Cloud was tossed up to Bahamut SHIN and flew into its Tremor Flare, Aerith put up a barrier to shield him. People seem to confuse Cloud's glowing spirit energy glowing around him as some type of barrier that...somehow Aerith concocted and then used to protect himself. Nevermind the fact he's flinching in pain from the heat and slicing through the blast with his sword. Also, they claim Aerith healed him as well. But no such mention of is made in the script, Reunion Files, or any other guide book, which clearly references the two times she did heal him. When he passed out in the church, and when she cured his Geostigma. It's just a rather bizarre theory that's not supported but vehemently touted as fact.

Uh, Reunion Files says Cloud and Tifa healed on their own. It's in the timeline.

As for what she's doing? Fury Brand. She's giving him a limit break.

As for Tremor flare, I'd always assumed it was 'Peta flare'

Ahh fair enough. I remember this discussion I had with Alise. But another part said something kinda different. And that still doesn't change the fact that they say Aerith healed Cloud's wounds and Geostigma when he was in the Church after the final battle!

LOL they never said that! Stop it!

Wtf? Why Peta?

Peta sounds funny cause... it makes me think of the actual peta throwing a fit or something :monster:

As for the Jenova controlling Sephiroth one, I remember believing this when I first played the game, before I read any Ultimanias or anything. In fact I remember having a conversation with a friend of mine where we established the true villain of FFVII was Jenova. All though I guess you could argue that without Jenova none of it would have happened.

I'm usually pretty good at accepting canon stuff, but I still think this is stupid. How the hell does he do it? It's not a materia, right? He was just born with it, he's a freakin' mutant. What was so wrong with Shinra building an AI-controlled robotic cat that could be overridden and controlled directly by Reeve? I mean that's essentially what it is anyway, but they made it weird.

And why does he only use it on Scottish cat toys? Why didn't he just Inspire the Sister Ray to not listen to Hojo :monster:

The other section says something along the lines of 'the scene where Cloud and Tifa heal in the church has foreshadowing of Aerith's appearance', but doesn't say she healed them, IIRC.

LOL they never said that! Stop it!

I know, but those tendrils seem like they're something.

Actually, it turns things into scottish cats, like the Moogle doll that was the basis for CS4.
Presumably, there's a size limit to what he can bring to life, that or a complexity issue.

Lol, I actually encountered someone recently who *I* had to educate that Vincent is not really Sephiroth's father.

No, they're not pre-teen/teens dressing in dark clothing and listening to sad music and writing "oh woe" poetry and stuff.

Vincent, er...kinda is/does. =( Not to say that there isn't a hefty reason for his behavior, but..yeah, he actually does dress in dark clothing, speak in a sort of "oh woe" poetry, and sad music plays when you discover him. In a coffin. Where he's confined himself for thirty years of hating himself and angsting.

Come on now.

I love Vincent, but he is more than a tad on the emo side.

When I think of 'emo', I think of it as the teenager phase, where it's kind of 'let me just be sad to be sad'. Yes, he acts that way, but it's not just for some frivolous reason, like to rebel against mom and dad. To me, there's a difference between "emo" and what Vincent is. I can understand why people would say 'emo', but I don't think it's the proper word for it. It sounds very high school to me.

But I think we agree on a basic level. So yeah.

The assumption that Cloud is riding off to find Aerith at the end of Advent Children. I'm annoyed this one won't die, even after she's been removed from the credits of Advent Children Complete.

Lol, I read that as "I'm annoyed and won't die." I was like, "It's okay man, take it easy."

How about stupid assumptions when you first played through? At one point I thought it was going to be revealed that Sephiroth was Aerith's old boyfriend. :monster:

To this day, the number of people who believe Sephiroth was trying to avenge the Cetras during all FFVII and AC/ACC is amazing.
It seems their minds only registered what happened until the Nibelheim incident, and decided to ignore everything else revealed about him later in the story.

The resurrection one drives me crazy. After FFVII I thought it was a valid theory simply because anything could have happened at the end of the game, including all the humans being erased from the surface of the planet.

AC/CC and Dirge rolls along and no, she isn't alive. CoL rolls around and she's not even attempting to come back to life. :/
4.) Sephiroth was only at 1/3 his strength because he only spawned from Kadaj instead of all three. The creator's specifically state they thought such a transformation would be too ridiculous to implement. And nevermind that the entire mechanics of his resurrection doesn't require all three remnants at all.
Well I, for one, would enjoy all three doing the ssj dance to merge and create Sephiroth.

* That pairings actually matter.
* That it's worth spending 12 years discussing said pairings.
* Ridiculous arguments for said pairings.
* Boobs.
* That FFVII is the best game evar. I'm fine if you think it's the best, but don't say it like it's a fact :monster:.
* People saying you can't revive Aeris. I did it, donate to TLS and I'll share the secrets. When you do, you also get a code you can use on the AC and ACC DVD / BRD, which unlocks the half hour they initially cut out of the movie to encourage ambiguity and said pairing discussions. That, and animated kiddy pr0n with tentacles.
* That they wouldn't re-use seph in another installation of the compilation. I mean, really, only one of his incarnations dies during AC(C), and the rain only comes to the surface of the planet. SE wouldn't dare to make a full FFVII title without their most well-known antagonist.
* That Tifa and Aerith are straight :awesome:

What the fuck, you just played into two rumors that are patently false, fucker.

Great Gospel only effects Edge.

Sephiroth didn't need all three of his remnants to become whole again. There were just three of them. He died, and Kadaj was left. And they already did make a compliation entry with Sephiroth before.
