Purrrrrrrr Thank you^_^ How do you get the pics? Out of a mag? Or do you stop the vidoe to get it?

Print Screen is your friend! :monster:

Why do you suppose they gave him silver hair?

In eastern cultures, silver hair is a sign of great knowledge and wisdom.

Maybe they chose to give Sephiroth silver hair in order to simbolyze the knowledge and wisdom he gained while traveling the Lifestream. Even before that, the description he gave Cloud/Azck about the Mako Fountain showed us that Sephiroth was very intelligent and aware of Nature itself.

And did you know that, also in eastern cultures, the length of one's hair simbolyzes the power and strength of that person?

And Sephiroth's hair is very, very long, wich simbolyzes Sephiroth's condition as the strongest Soldier and the most powerful being in FFVII Universe.

So hey, it occurred to me this morning—and I haven't had my coffee yet so I could very well be retarded for thinking this—that, as children, Sephiroth and Aeris were both somewhere in the ShinRa building at the same time, right? Aeris and her mother were captured when Aeris was an infant, and they didn't escape until Aeris was 7 or so. If Sephiroth spent his entire childhood with ShinRa as well, do you think they ever met?

Oh yes, and I come bearing gifts—

I've seen a lot of fanfiction about them meeting when they were children. I think it's a good idea, but they were probably separated in the ShinRa building...

Nice list of fanart, though. And now I have a new wallpaper. :monster:

Sephiroth was given long silver hair to contrast Cloud's short blond hair.

Cloud's hair is gold.

Sephiroth's hair is silver.

It's just one of the many design choices they made to make Cloud and Sephiroth opposites.

It also looks cool. Noruma doesn't think that deeply about hair color.

Hmmmmm... Didn't they made Sephiroth's hair silver/white to contrast with the black hair of the original hero(the one with Angeal's appearance and black hair)?

I don't know anything about that.........

Yes, because IIRC Angeal was suppose to be the original main character of FF7, which got changed and Cloud became it. Constrats of a light and dark color, but since black probably doesn't symbolize what they wanted, and Sephiroth's hair was already silver, the only hair color that his archnemesis could conceivably have would be blond.

I'd also heard the tale about long-haired representing power and silver representing wisdom, ad Sephiroth had both, so that makes sense.

Cloud's initial design was 'all black' slicked back hair, nothing spiky. To make him stand out more and have the 'image' of being protagonist, Nomura revised his hair to be pointy and bright blonde. The major antagonist Sephiroth, was also made to be a complete contrast with original Cloud. Sephiroth's design basis was 'Long Coat' and long silver hair.

That's where it comes from.

So why in particular are they trying to make Cloud and Sephiroth look so different? Is that to make their constrats more noticable? Good verus evil stuff?

That's what I'd think. Cloud and Sephiroth are clearly two sides of the same coin. Opposites yet connected because of the crazy events that have happened to both of them.

Hell, if you notice, they were even born in the same place technically.

You make an interesting observation there, Mako, I never even realized that. I don't suppose there's any chance Cloud or Sephiroth might have seen each other as kids...No, wait, there's a significant age difference, IIRC. Speaking of which, is there an official age for Sephiroth?

Yeah, Sephiroth is definitely Cloud's senior. XDDD

But no, there is no official age for Sephiroth. However, we know by the time of FFVII, he was around 27, to 28 years old.

I'm sort of glad they never gave Sephy an age. I always see him 25ish in FF7 back in the day.

Since it was stated that Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis were all born more or less twenty years before Crisis Core, and CC itself occurs seven years before FFVII, I think that Sephiroth would be around 27 years old in FFVII and 29 in AC.

I don't think Sephiroth was actually in Nibelheim for very long, seeing as he only faintly remembers it.
[/quote]

yes, he probably just stayed in Nibelheim until he was 2, 3 years old.

That's why he told, in FFVII, that he felt like he knew Nibelheim.

Another curious thing is Sephiroth's height. While in the english FFVII manual his height is listed as 185 cm, this can't be right because Zack's height is also listed as 185 cm in recent offcial materials and Sephiroth is a bit taller than Zack.

Then again, Sephiroth's height was also listed as unknown in the more recent Ultimanias.

So, based in the fact that the height indicated in the english manual is wrong, what do you think that is Sephiroth's actual height?

I think that Sephiroth, in reality, is about 190-195 cm, since he's also taller than Genesis and Angeal.
